any way to get rid of/prevent these dents in my toms??

Factory heads are ass. Some can't-miss options for toms are Remo Emperors or Pinstripes, or Evans G2. If you want to save some dough, Drum Factory Direct has some pretty great cheap house brand heads - try the clear two-ply flavor. If you have no budget at all, a heat gun or hair dryer, *carefully used,* will pull dents out of heads.

These shipped out pretty fast. I ordered them for a cheap drum set I picked up and WOW, they sound like a million bucks! Remo is a staple brand of drum products and has been well respected for years. What kind of heads do you like on your toms?

I currently use Remo Pinstripes. If I wanted a bit more attack I'd probably use Powerstroke P3 and adjust the tuning.

Right now I have Remo coated ambassadors. They were nice and "Boomy" good for playing SOD and what not. Before I used Remo Pinstripes and they sounded pretty good too. I play 5A sticks because I felt like a batter warming up with two bats, but I think I'm ready for a thinner stick now.

Updating an old, cheapo drumset. The original heads were all chewed up. I remember using Remo pinstripes in marching band and found this set. They have worked out very well, convenient that all came in one package. Nice and easy.

Remo pinstripes clear on top, clear ambassadors on bottom. With maple snares i tend to use them for a very fat tone. I enjoy the remo hazy snare side and remo power stroke 3 coated on top.
