It'll sound great if it's tuned well with decent heads. Can't go wrong with Evans or Remo. Evans coated G2 is what I have on my toms, with an Emad with the big ring on the bass drum

Just sounds really cheap, not the brand but just this lower level skin... get one with a ring inside, this one doesn't have it and sounds tingy.

Amazing deal. As another person said, New Beats really are the quintessential archetype of a hi-hat. Those Evans G2 heads are also pro level and when tuned up nicely will give your drums a great fat warm sound.

this drum skin is not too expensive and its quality. can take a massive pounding and stays well tightened. you can get a good sound by tuning it tight or looser depending on what you like. It is lasting me well unlike the slightly cheaper brands

Looking to get back into drumming after 15+ year gap

Went through this recently myself, after an 8 year gap. I went with Evans g2 coated for my batters and I love them.

If you are looking to upgrade your cheap kit Evans will make a huge difference in the way you mediocre drum set will sound. I replaced all the heads on my kit and what a difference!
