Evans G1 Coated

Evans hybrid coated. You play grindcore, so you're probably cranking the shit out of it, and it lasts a really long time.

Got the correct product except the picture shows the "Level 360" version and I received the old version that didn't have the Evans 360 technology. I'll see if I can get the Level 360 version from the seller

It came with the DW Remo Controlled Sound Coated Dot. Then I tried an Evans coated G1 and stopped loving the snare. Then I tried a DW Remo Coated Ambassador, and still found it hard to love the snare again.

I'm sure it's a great head but I ordered a clear single ply and got a black hydraulic head. Needed to install straight away so no time to return it and try again.

It'll sound great if it's tuned well with decent heads. Can't go wrong with Evans or Remo. Evans coated G2 is what I have on my toms, with an Emad with the big ring on the bass drum

Best sound available - I have used both Remo & Evans over the years (since 1970) but ALWAYS find Evans heads to be easier to tune, better sounding, and a more durable solution. On my Ludwig Keystone kit (oak & maple shells) & Pearl Export Select kit I use coated G2's on top, clear G1's on reso side ...

You can use almost any head as a reso, though it's usually something single ply like Evans G1 or Remo Ambassador.

If your question about heads for toms is for the batter head, I like Remo Pinstripes myself.
