This model locks upright and easily slides into a cupboard for storage. It features some nice touches like an indicator light to signify when the machine is up to temperature and a timer that notifies you when the waffle is done. On the flip side &#40;sorry, we couldn't resist&#41;, this waffle maker isn't all strawberries and syrup. Even though the unit packs up relatively small for storage, it requires a fair amount of real estate on your counter when in use. Overall we'd call its waffles evenly cooked, but one side does come out a bit crispier than the other. I love this waffle maker so much because first of all, I love having waffles for breakfast and this waffle maker just makes the whole process so easy. It has a little timer feature right here so you can go ahead and click that button and then you're able to set it for whatever you need to time your waffles according to the directions and it will beep for you right before it's done and then once it's done.  So this is how I keep it in my cabinet because it's nice and slim so it doesn't take up a lot of room at all. And this waffle maker is just so simple. You just plug it in and it heats up. You pour in your batter and that's it

 You won't need to do this every time unless it becomes hard to remove a waffle pour in 3/4 to 1 cup of your waffle batter in the middle. If you're using a thick batter, spread it out with a heat-resistant spatula. I'm going to use my 1 cup dry measuring cup and pour the mixture in the middle. It's a little bit thick so I'll spread it around now

 With this recipe, you'll get five waffles and 15 minutes when you finish. Unplug the unit but cool and wipe the grids with a soft cloth. The outside can be wiped off with a damp cloth to save space.  generally when you no longer see steam coming from the unit, the waffles done the time on the timer here. we'll just keep flashing. So when it gets to 1 minute it counts down and beeps. Those are the five beeps indicating that the waffle is cooked

 The construction on this is great, easy to clean, perfect heating element and the flipping motion helps make a perfect waffle every time. Plus its a lot less clunky and takes up way less space than most Belgian waffle makers. The only downside is the timer. Ours worked for the first few weeks and now whenever we start it, the numbers fade as it gets to 1 or 2 minutes and than it's just blank and doesn't beep anymore

We started just setting a timer outside of the machine and it works fine. Still very annoying as the waffle maker has literally 2-3 functions and one of them just doesn't work! Great waffle maker, bad controls

Maybe ours was defective I don't know - but I used a tried and true batter recipe known to have great results.

 1 minute twenty seconds, light golden brown with inside having you wonder if it cooked. It did but this was really not what we were expecting.

Spent a lot of time looking for the right one to start with and due to the reviews here on this site plus the price, I was convinced this would be the one.

 If I take it out any sooner to keep the outside from burning, the inside is not done. The recipe says 4 minutes but I have found it is more like 3 minutes and the outside is still burnt. I will try one more time before returning it.

Cooking - 3 minutes is the key here. However, there doesn't appear to be any built in temperature controls, so after 2 minutes, pull the plug and let it cook for the last minute unplugged.

 After that I used a brush and brushed both surfaces down with vegetable oil and allowed it to heat up all the way. I then cooked another waffle and after it was finished, I was able to pull it out with no effort all. I found that after about 6 waffles I had to brush it down again, but since then I've cooked over a dozen and haven't had to reapply any oil and the waffles come out perfect every time.

Batter amount - 2/3 - 1 cup seems to be optimal with all the recipes and mixes I've tried thus far.

Timer - useless and don't bother with it. Just use a standard kitchen timer or other available timer.

Great for the price point

However, the price tag is pretty high (this is why I gave it 4 stars), if this one lasts me 2-3 years if I make waffles twice a week then its worth the $47.25 I paid.
