Ours worked for the first few weeks and now whenever we start it, the numbers fade as it gets to 1 or 2 minutes and than it's just blank and doesn't beep anymore

The manufacturer recommends just wiping with a damp wash cloth or sponge to clean. Let's face it, a waffle maker is not an easy thing to clean, but the non-stick surface on this maker has made cleaning easier--I first use a silicone basting brush to "flick" out, if any, remaining tiny pieces of waffle and then wipe with a damp sponge. The maker was received timely--there was a slight delay with the carrier due to bad weather conditions, it was well-packaged and in great condition.

Where to begin? Product is rather flimsy with quite a bit of plastic...which melted after the second use

We have a family of four, so the size is perfect. The design is awesome from the moat around the edges of the machine to catch the drips to the light/dark control and overall usability. The “a bit more” button is really nice. We use it much more than I ever thought we would

[updated January, 2011] We bought the Presto FlipSide to replace afaux pro waffler made by the blender company who shares its name with Fred W's Glee Club. That one cost twice the price and lasted a mere three years before going to pieces. It was "Pro" in name only. Presto took a simpler and possibly more durable approach: Engineer the hinge on a traditional counter-top Belgian waffle maker so it can flip 180 degrees and let gravity work its special magic

This is really not a big deal, I just set a different timer. The nonstick ceramic is easily the best part of this waffle maker - it really is nonstick. I have found that I do have to lightly spray the waffle iron when I'm making waffles with stuff in them (usually chocolate chips for my kid), otherwise the waffles tend to split down the middle, with half on each side. Sometimes I don't bother spraying even then, because the waffles still taste good

This waffle iron was insanely expensive. Good thing I'm rich. I could have gotten a waffle iron for 30 bucks, and here I paid .

Spent a lot of time looking for the right one to start with and due to the reviews here on this site plus the price, I was convinced this would be the one.
