The Breville No-Mess cranks out high-quality, classic-style waffles repeatedly. The user interface makes it simple to set up, and almost more importantly, the machine is one of the easiest models to clean. The hallmark of a great waffle is one with uniform texture, thickness, and doneness. Except when using extra-thick batters, this unit delivers consistently cooked waffles; our testers never experienced undercooked or raw sections of waffles. When cooking for higher browning, the doneness timer worked exceptionally well. When set for lighter browning, the waffles needed a little more time than they were automatically given. However, the timer on this model was one of the most reliable in our testing group. The safety features are excellent; equipped with a long fixed handle and an easy-to-use lock, this is an excellent machine. 
While not one of the waffles we made with the No-Mess was inedible, this model doesn't work well with extra thick batters and some additives such as chocolate chips. It particularly becomes an issue during cleanup. The overflow basin does a wonderful job catching drips and spills with light to medium batters, but the thick batter may pool and spill over the edges of the drip basin. We also found that chocolate chips and berries would cake onto the drip basin and take some real effort to scrape off. However, if you're looking for a high-quality waffle maker that is easy to use and reliable, this is our first choice.

 We've got this little lock that means that we can store the waffle maker up right in our kitchen so taking up less space so our ready light is telling us that the waffle maker is up to temperature so we'll just open her up and make some waffles so we'll pour in some mix. Here's a tip: don't put too much in because again, this mix grows dramatically as it cooks. Shut the lid and the waffle maker will do its thing now and beep when it's ready. So the No-mess Waffle just beeped to let us know that our first waffles are ready

 However, it is simply not a match for the All-clad. I want a louder beep and a waffle that is easier to get out of the machine. I wanted to love this but I’m afraid that I do not.

 Whose idea was the slick knob? It is really hard to turn as it slips between the fingers. My hands are old and calloused so it might be my fault. However, they still could have put some ridges on the know.  On the plus side, it cooks very evenly and the temperature knob commands the temp very precisely

The first waffle, each time, can be a little difficult to remove, but can usually be done without tearing it apart. Regardless, if the batter for the second waffle is poured immediately, or plates preheated again before doing so, when the waffle is done the only way It cane be removed intact is wait until the plates & waffle are cold. Attempts to remove the second waffle immediately have been futile, resulting in most of the top In pieces, & bottom stuck to the plate. Maybe a non-stick cooking spray would solve the problem, but the instructions indicate not to use one because it can, “impact the performance of the non-stick surface on the cooking plates

Don’t plan on a second waffle.

I have used this waffle maker for a couple weeks and while I like it, I honestly don’t think it’s worth the money. We had a $25 one we’ve used for several years (at least once a week) that kicked he bucket, and after a lot of research I decided on this one. I figured since we cooked waffles a lot I’d “splurge.” However, the first waffle is always too done, even if done on the lowest setting

 Defiantly not as nice or consistent as my old Waring Pro waffle iron I had before this. On the bright side I’ll be eating less carbs.

Got this waffle maker about a week ago and finally decided to make waffles. It heats up pretty quick, cooks fairly fast but the waffles are SUPER uneven. I made the recipe in the instruction manual that came with the machine. The top is darker but has super light spots but the bottom is not cooked enough IMO

 This one is a huge step up from that. I chose the Breville because I have used their products before and have been happy with the quality of them, I wanted a round non-Belgian style waffle maker that allowed me to fine tune the darkness of the waffle, and I wanted something that had an audible alert.  Waffles cook evenly, which is very important. Cleanup is a breeze too, which is also very important since this isn't something you can just wash in a sink or dishwasher

The little moat around the edge works exactly as advertised, catching any overflow and cooking it to make for easy cleanup. The latch on the lid to lock it when storing is extremely helpful since you often have to grab it by the handle to get it in and out of the cabinet

Our choice was to keep the All Clad (and we love it in every way), and return the Breville

The shape of the Breville irons make the waffles stick (not enough taper to the squares), and the groves are not in the middle of the waffle thickness and instead are closer to one face than the other, making them fragile when you do get it out.
