bout 10 o'clock, it becomes gated and spitty - so there's a lot of spectrum for gated velcroiness, but not much "normal" fuzz, it would have been nice to have a 50 50 kind of sweep with a few more "blended" sounds. Also, the gated, voltage starved effect is a bit weird to get use to at first. - The more you turn the bias knob CW, the more spitty it gets and you lose *alot* of bass.

I am not a huge fuzz fan but I was looking for Greenbaum's Spirit in the Sky tone and this does it nicely for me. It could be a bit "spittier" but it gets close enough while staying controllable all over the neck and different string gauges. I also get a good Stones "Satisfaction" sound with this gr...

This pedal takes boost very well in front. The extra overdrive from the boost is smooth and doesn't cause the signal to clip in any weird way. I find that having the gain on the Dude at about 1 o'clock is really great medium gain territory and if you kick in about +10-12 db of boost in front of that, you get some beautiful lead tone. The MXR six band EQ of course acts as a final tone shaping tool after the overdrive before my amp but right now I'm using it just as a clean boost for about an extra +5 db or so.

There is a lot of tone choices in this pedal. It can go from 60 garage rock to bone crushing sludge metal. If you like bias, then it gives a velcro glitch when needed. There are huge variations of sound with the EQ. Great if you can get Free Returns and try it risk free.
