So here’s today’s installment. Zvex Fuzz Factory, Myrold Era, dated 02/01. I bought this pedal ten years ago (literally this pedal it was my second and a replacement after I sold the first).

(I originally left this review where I made the purchase on Amazon. But since the offer is now gone, I'm re-posting it here. Also, since originally writing the review, I've had a chance to try the Fat Fuzz Factory on some other amps. My original opinion remains the same.) This isn't a set-and-forget...

I am shocked, SHOCKED, that this thread isn’t full of the ZVEX Fuzz Factory. I have the Fat version with the extra sub oscillators and it is everything a fuzz should be. You got the classic fuzz tones, the weird Velcro sounds, a gate and/or compressor to clean things up, and best of all the stability knob which sends it into self oscillation that you can control with the fucking volume pot on your guitar!!

Its a cool approach to fuzz, but somehow it misses the target. I would recommend checking it out because it is so unique, I just found it to be a bit frustrating and hard to dial in. It does have some killer sub sonic fuzziness that goes deeper than any other pedal I've heard.

I don’t have any super fuzz style pedals so why not? Can’t beat the insanely low price. Some other fuzzes I’ve owned: Ryra Fuzz-a-matic, Zvex Fuzz Factory, CBA Bliss Factory, Land Devices/Farm Pedals No Masters, Caroline Guitar Co. Olympia, Vick Audio ‘73 Rams Head, King Tone MiniFuzz Ge.

Not really that versatile of a fuzz pedal, despite the multiple controls. Perfect if the only sound you want is SCREEEEEEEEEEEE.
