All right, so DOD Carcosa Fuzz. Why I love this pedal. This pedal is cheap and it sounds great

DOD Carcosa Fuzz - Wow this fuzz hits the spot! I’m not really a big fuzz guy, but I do love the splatty, velcro sounds this pedal is capable of. DOD BiFet Boost 410 - This pedal is a great always on pedal and adds a nice flavor. The tone knob really helps balance the sound depending on what type of guitar/pickups are being played.

NPD: DOD Carcosa joins the fuzz gang

The DOD Carcosa has been on my list for a long time - especially with all the hype it gets around here. Of the 5 fuzz pedals I own, it has the most versatility. It can do a similar thick low-end to the Mastotron, which I look forward to trying on bass. The style of fuzz is different enough to the others to make it interesting; definitely not a Big Muff sound, more similar to the Z.Vex pedals.

My main pedals for riffing doom metal sounds like Sleep, Windward, Cough and Electric Wizard. What other pedal would you add that's around $150 or less?

Maybe look into the DOD Carcosa at $110. Based on an old fuzz but a couple modes and powerful controls make it work for more modern sounds. Scott Hill from Fu Manchu uses a Super Fuzz but you could get the JHS Supreme (a little over budget at 179) which gets that sound.

DOD Carcosa - just silly versatile and was an amazing value when they were being blown out cheap. You can still find deals on them, and they're a great compliment to other fuzzes out there.

A DOD Carcosa is a very versatile and affordable fuzz. But if you want a fuzz face I think the Dunlop JHW1 Jimi series might be interesting, it has a germanium and silicon side plus a switchable buffer.
