DOD Carcosa Fuzz

 Hey, it's Andy with Pro Guitar Shop and ToneReport.com, today we're exploring the Carcosa from DoD.

 The conclusion of a cross-country vintage fuzz quest, the Carcosa has its roots in the

 fuzz boom of the 70s, when Silicon dethroned Germania.

 Like other fuzzes of that time, the Carcosa has an exaggerated mid-range and treble profile

 that slices through the mix like a hatchet, while retaining superior note definition with

 Two modes define the Carcosa, Halley mode exhibits a lighter fuzz tone for an already

 dirty amp, tightening up the lows and strengthening the highs to make its presence felt.

 Demi mode adds some punch to a clean amp, adding a fat dose of low mids that beefs

 up any signal in addition to a complex harmonic character.

 The before and after controls work in tandem across both modes to deliver an extremely

 broad palette of fuzz tones, from AM radio lo-fi crunch to brawny Bruce Banner approved

 around the middle for a tight distortion fuzz.

 We'll go through the two different modes to change the voice.

 Well, that's a look at the Carcosa fuzz from DOD, a pedal that goes all the way from that

 classic sputtering 60s fuzz to a more modern and tighter defined fuzz tone, and you can

 Today it's about this thing, the DOD Carcosa Fuzz.

 This thing's a super rad pedal that I just picked up.

 So it's a great value and it's got a lot

 This pedal is cheap and it sounds great.

 I love fuzz pedals and don't really get to use them all as much as I would like to.

 So it's tough for me to keep fuzz pedals around.

 Like I've had a lot of really expensive fuzz pedals that sound amazing, but when they sit

 on the shelf and they don't get used, I start looking at them and I'm like, well, maybe

 I could sell that and buy something that's a little more useful.

 So because of that, I can justify keeping it around even if I don't use it that much.

 Not only fuzz tones, but even kind of overdrive distortion tones that are a little more usable

 This first tone is what you heard in the video.

 The pedal reacts pretty differently with this Tele that I'm using right here.

 This has Fraylon 5% Overwound, so they're a little hotter, a little darker.

 You can see here how I got it dialed in.

 Kind of a cool overdriven sound right there.

 Almost kind of acts as a clean boost in a way.

 Here we're getting into a little more distortion kind of thing.

 It's super versatile, super versatile fuzz pedal that I can justify sticking around because

 That kind of fuzzier, starting to get in Velcro territory.

 This right here, this kind of gets us there as we turn this up right here.

 I feel like it just kind of brings in the meat as you flip it up.

 Great pedal, super affordable, sounds great, really versatile.

 Everything from kind of a cleanish boost to even that like Velcro fuzz thing.

 You don't find many pedals that will do all of that.
