 No one is brushing oil on these things anymore. The world did not end, and my waffle cooked up just fine. I made another too and it was just great. If you cook waffles correctly, the cleanup should be minimal

 This is a cheaper waffle maker. I figured for as often as I'd use it, it was worth the risk. I read the instructions and made a waffle. The instructions say not to use spray cooking oil, so I did, because to heck with them

 It cooks nicely and works well. I don't like the odd short cord, or the fact that you can't store it upright which I really needed to do. But it makes fine waffles.

 So what i got i got some of these at the orange automotive store, so we're gon na see. If that will make this work and here's one in place, i haven't snapped it in place, yet it's a little small, but i think it was the it will spread. Octember Fail, Seven: Black And Decker Belgian Waffle Maker Model WMB500

 I was excited when I saw the exact model for sale here. I ordered it right away and made waffles. The exact recipe I have been using for years. The waffle iron didn't seem to get hot enough

 Especially around the outside. The middle cooked perfectly but not the outer 3rd. I always cooked my waffles 3 minutes for perfection and these are taking a little longer and just not cooking right. I assumed it was a fluke the first time

 I thought maybe my yeast expired or something and put the waffle iron away for next time. Next time came and same problem. So I'm pretty sure at this point the quality had gone down or I was unlucky and got a bad one. Unfortunately now it is too late to return it

Loved my same model from 13 years ago. Not liking my replacement.

 It'S extremely easy to use you just plug the machine in no buttons, no switches, all knobs. You just have a light that indicates when the machine is hot enough to add the batter and then turns off when the waffle is cooked. However, the machine only cooks them to a golden color. So if you like brown, crispier waffles, you have to play with the timing and estimate compared to its price point

 It'S not the most attractive and elegant piece of equipment, but it's not hideous either. The grid on the cooking plate is divided into four sections. A nice feature if you want to share your waffle or want to top each section with different toppings. The grades also have a nonstick coating, so the waffle slides smoothly from the plate and the cleaning is very easy and simple

 The cord being so short makes it so I have to have it practically right up against the wall and in my kitchen, the cabinets are a bit in the way for that. So cooking a waffle is awkward. And since the trays don't come out, I have to wash the entire thing in the sink and it keeps coming down on top of my fingers as I'm trying to wash it and also keep the very short cord out of the water. Mine didn't come with an instruction manual, by the way

2.5 stars actually. Not my favorite waffle iron, but at least it does the job.

 Also, the handle is oddly placed, the steam catches underneath the handle and I burnt my finger so badly from trying to open the lid that I had to go to the doctor. Highly suggest wearing oven mitts when using this. On the upside, I've eaten waffles every day since I got it. And they are friggin delicious, burnt fingers and all

 It is very simple to use. Plug it in, wait for the light to go out, fill with 2/3 cup batter, wait 2-3 minutes. We experimented with how long and discovered it took more like 3 to 3 1/2 minutes. The next day we used it again, and unfortunately it was not getting hot enough

 It still worked enough to eat them, but it was disappointing. Will try it again though! Does not require cooking spray, but does need and initial oil/heat/cool/clean before first use. And throwing out the first waffle is recommended.

 I will probably buy another one unless I could buy those parts to fix it. The griddles are well seasoned and the waffle maker is always a huge hit when my grand babies are around! THANK YOU Black & Decker.

 I can only conclude that this maker simply never gets hot enough to do the job. I'm really not that picky about my waffles, but this does disappoint.
