If you want a bigger screen, then the ViewSonic Elite XG270 is the best 27 inch 1080p gaming monitor for the PS4. The larger screen provides a more immersive viewing experience compared to a smaller 24 inch screen, so small details in your games appear bigger, and despite the lower pixel density, it still has good text clarity.

It's actually a 240Hz monitor, but it's still great for the PS4 because it performs well at 60Hz, as it has a quick response time at a lower refresh rate. Although the input lag increases a bit at 60Hz, it's still low enough that you won't notice any delay while gaming. It's also a good choice if you want to game on your PS4 in a room with a few lights around, as it gets bright enough to fight glare and has great reflection handling.

Sadly, it's not as good in dark rooms as the black uniformity is bad, and there's a noticeable backlight bleed throughout. Blacks also look gray, and it doesn't have a local dimming feature to improve the picture quality in dark scenes. If that isn't a problem for you, it's the best 1080p monitor for the PS4 with a 27 inch screen.

Blur Busters

If you want something cheap for watching your favorite shows and movies, you can easily find a cheap monitor, but you won't get nearly the same performance and picture quality as higher-end models. If that doesn't both you, then the ViewSonic Elite XG270 is a good choice. By stepping down price categories, you also lose out on the 4k resolution of the Dell S2721QS, and instead, this monitor has a 1080p resolution. You don't get the same sharp images, but the image clarity is still good enough to enjoy watching your favorite content.

Other than the resolution, the picture quality is very similar to the Dell because it has decent accuracy before calibration, great SDR peak brightness, and good reflection handling. It also has wide viewing angles if you want to watch something with a friend sitting next to you, and its stand offers various adjustments that make it easy to adjust into place. Unfortunately, like the Dell, it isn't good for dark room usage as blacks look gray, and it lacks a local dimming feature, but that's normal for a cheap monitor.

If you find the budget-friendly monitors above too expensive, look into getting a cheap monitor. While you won't get as many features with a cheap monitor as you would with a budget monitor, which tends to cost a bit more, many monitors are still good for different uses, including gaming. Something like the ViewSonic XG270 is an excellent gaming monitor with similar specs to the ViewSonic XG2431 but with a larger 27-inch screen. The XG2431 still has a few extra features, like the customizable backlight strobing feature, which explains its higher price tag.

It has a 240Hz refresh rate, so the motion handling is fantastic, especially at high frame rates. It also has low input lag for a responsive feel while gaming, and its native FreeSync FVFRR support and G-SYNC compatibility both help reduce screen tearing. While it's also good for office use thanks to its wide viewing angles and good ergonomics, it has limited text clarity due to its 1080p resolution, so you might have to increase the scaling to read text easier.

If you're on a budget and want a 27-inch gaming monitor, there are a few good options to choose from. The ViewSonic XG270 is excellent for gaming, and even though it has a lower 1080p resolution than the LG 27GP850-B, meaning images aren't as sharp, it has a higher 240Hz refresh rate. It's great if you're a competitive gamer and don't need a high-resolution display. It has all the gaming features you're looking for, like native FreeSync VRR support, G-SYNC compatibility, and a backlight strobing feature to reduce persistence blur. It has a few other features, like the ability to add a virtual crosshair that your system won't detect.

Motion is exceptionally smooth on this monitor as it has a fantastic response time across its entire refresh rate range, and it has low input lag for a responsive feel. It also delivers good picture quality, which is a nice touch for a budget display, as it gets bright, has great reflection handling, and has decent color accuracy, but like most monitors, it has a low contrast ratio.

The main difference is the size. I recommend XG270 instead of AW2720HF and XG2431 instead of XB253Q GX. They have really good blur reduction implementations and are otherwise similar. VG259QM is also good if you just want a fast monitor

The Best 240hz Monitor? - ViewSonic XG270 Elite Review!

 So I think I may be the first person to review this monitor, I've seen some ViewSonic XG270

 reviews about already, however they're all for the 1440p 144Hz panel.

 This on the other hand is the rather interesting 1080p 240Hz variant.

 So why should you care about this monitor anyway?

 Well in the past if you wanted a 240Hz monitor with fast response times, you'd have to get

 a TN panel, there weren't really any other options out there.

 This however is an IPS panel with 1ms grey to grey response time, G-Sync, HDR and blur

 reduction technology approved by Blurbusters.

 If you can look past the fact that it's only 1080p, this is one huge spec.

 Basically competitive gamers, people that will be able to make use of the 240Hz refresh

 Provided you've got the skills and the reflexes, higher refresh rate monitors will make you

 more competitive in whatever game you're playing.

 But anyways, obviously you get the monitor, you get a stand, there's a power brick and

 you also get these side shields which can be attached to the sides of the monitor to

 make you look like a proper esports professional.

 Now before we get into the actual display technology, let me talk you through some of

 So first off the stand, it's actually quite good, it's made of metal so it's very stable

 and solid, there's plenty of adjustability, you can raise it up and down, there's side

 to side tilt if you want it at an angle, you can adjust the vertical tilt as well.

 It even supports portrait mode so you can use it vertically if you really want to.

 Again, even in portrait mode you've still got some adjustability when it comes to tilt

 Now unfortunately the stand doesn't have any RGB, is that unfortunate?

 It depends who you ask, but anyway the monitor itself does in fact have RGB, there's a couple

 of strips along the bottom of the monitor for a nice bit of underglow and if you look

 on the back you'll see this cool glowing hexagon.

 Now the LEDs can all be changed to whatever color you want and the best bit is you can

 use software to do it, you don't need to faff about going into the monitor settings using

 In fact if you install the software from Viewsonic you can pretty much control all of the monitor

 settings straight from your PC which is super convenient.

 Now of course this is clearly marketed as a gaming monitor but if you don't believe
