after browsing the manual online, I am going to say no, this specific thing does not work how you want it 2. 

I am interested in buying a drum machine for simple background noise on film projects. My question is can I load samples I either record or cut out of YouTube videos onto this specific Korg device and then press the buttons in structured ways to make a rhythm. Sorry if this is uneducated, I’m not adept at music nor do I know what drum machines actually do. If it’s not a drum machine that does that and it’s another device can you point me in that direction. Like say, for example, I wanted to repeat a sound of a pig squealing I took from YouTube in a musical way what would I use?

Can I load my own samples on to a Korg KR-55 Pro?

Not worth it. The DX7 is so well emulated on pc and on ios/android that allow for better programming and patch management that getting the hardware is a bit silly for the sound alone, and there are plenty of other, better late 80s / early 90s synths that feature the FX20 or FS style keybeds of the DX7.

For the past several months, I’ve been drooling over Yamaha DX7s. They have the perfect vintage/Mac Demarco sounds and I was wondering what you guys thought about that. Thanks!

What are the best synthesizers in your opinion under 1000$?

Waldorf Pulse 2:  I could never get over the interface on this thing.  Decent sounding synth, but I just can't deal with grid-style interfaces.

Behringer Deepmind 12:  Bought mine because it was cheap.  It's kind of the "bastard child" in my current rig:  I don't dislike it enough to sell it and it's quite useful, I just avoid using it.

Behringer Pro-1:  I consider this a complement to the Bass Station 2:  it has its own tone that makes it distinct, and it has features the BS2 doesn't have in the sound chain.  

Studio Electronics Boomstar Mk.II 4072:  This was one of my bigger regrets.  Built like a tank and sounded great, but it was expensive and honestly the sound just didn't match what I was going for.  It gave an almost "70's" vibe

That next synth purchase isn't going to make you happy.

 Don't even waste time there. That will come later when you are rich from making killer albums in your headphones.

 The Pro One is great, but not really all that great, it is kind of boring compared to a Moog flagship. I would go with a Moog Voyager or Model D for a mono synth. The SE-1 is great too (Omega 8 or Code 8 is what you really want). Modern DSI synths have buggy (buzzy) effects, and the voices sound miniature

3. Instead of buying 10 additional entry level synths chasing tone that will never be found. Buy a DI and a good Mic preamp channelstrip with EQ and Compression (Master compression and Limiting right away). Focus on a mono recording chain, and work up to a stereo chain for wider mixes once you master recording in Mono, and know how to mix a stereo track

 Then this is doing what the profit six filter does and it tunes it to semitones. So if we just put the filter on on its own, take the oscillators out and then just modulate the cutoff - that's doing a semitone at a time. So you can tune the filter to a well to a frequency, put the keyboard control on okay. So it gets really really nice and bassy, and it's a really smooth filter

 It'S saying it's around around nine kilohertz on the rev three, it's about eight swapping between the two different filters that gets lovely and rumbly as well, and let's just modulate those sort of around fifty percent resonance in a sort of 50 cutoff as well and rev. Three and maybe let's try these with a chord, shall we so we get some more rich harmonics going on foreign. Let'S add some envelope then, to the filter and put the cut off on low envelope open the attack up. So now we shouldn't get any stepping

Well well, well, what have i got here as if the title of the video doesn't give it away uh? This has been sitting with me now for well two weeks tomorrow and i've been dying to get my hands on it dying to open it, but i've just not had the time. So i've been really really looking forward to doing this. So, let's just kick off and open this box, so the first thing you notice is just how big and chunky everything is in the sort of gap between the actual knobs and the such space between them. It'S really really nice and chunky

 Eight and they've got quite a lot of things going on, but this is really simple and much more expensive than all of them. I could probably get a an xm and a system eight together for the price of this or the cobalt eight, the mini log xd. The system 8 and a couple of other bits and bobs. So it's a big investment, but it's one, i'm hoping i'm not going to regret so all in all, quite beautiful tones complex tones all from a very simple interface and that's why it's a classic and i for one really like more simple tones, make a complex track With lots of simple tones, rather than making a complex tone to make a track different way of doing things, maybe it's because i'm not capable of making really complex tones

filter pedal inputs as well and of course it's got 
a beautiful five octave keyboard yeah it's really  

really impressive looking and you know 
i don't know why wood on a synth makes  

it really impressive looking it's a bit like your 
grandmother's sideboard well had a built-in stereo  

or a tv back in the 70s that were made of wood but 
you know there's something really nice about this  

i don't know why i'm so excited by this 
feel like a kid at christmas this is really  

really a bizarre thing i mean i get lots of synths 
in here you know we're buying a cell quite a lot  

but there's something about this that's really 
bit reminds me a bit of when i first got the  

mini moog this is uh yeah something special 
but let's plug it in and have a bit of a play

don't know what it is that really does 
sound just beautiful and lush and it's  

bizarre because it's a really really simple 
tone and i don't know it's just you know you  

try and make those simple turns on other things 
but doesn't quite have the sound this has got

so now i've had my very very first little play 
on it let's just take a little overview of what  

there is shall we we've got the polymod section 
as we expect the inputs being the filter envelope  

and oscillator b and you've got frequency a pulse 
width of a and the filter as the destinations lfo  

we've got three shapes that you can mix the shapes 
got five destinations for the modulation wheel
