What is a synth that you don’t like that other people love?
Korg minilogue, I just think it sounds really shrill and thin. Would probably cut through a mix well, but I found it very uninspiring.
Blown away by sound, ease of use & build quality (a few small cons) !
I absolutely love this. Coupled with the Roland JD-Xi, I think this becomes the best pair of synths ever under $1k. Here's the highlights: - All parameters have easy knob control, hence its easy even for a novice to sound synthesis like me, to create interesting tones. - Amazing build quality & aest...

New Synth. Totally blown away. Amazing.
Sounds amazing. Only other synth I’ve owned is a Korg Minilogue and I didn’t love it so I sold it, and have just been using Arturia Analog Lab and V Collection 8, but this Rev2 is amazing.

Korg Monologue vs Minilogue (Differences & Which To Buy)
Priced at $399, it is up from its original $300 price tag, but still offers a lot of value for the price. On the other hand, if you’re looking for a very versatile, feature-packed analog polysynth at a bargain price of $549, the Minilogue is an easy choice. Korg’s Minilogue and Monologue are two great synths that are very affordable

Why the Korg Minilogue?
Chords can work, but doesn’t have the “wide” stereo effect. 2. Sequencing: The sequencer on the Minilogue is so easy to program and record live automation. After getting a prophet, I used this for sequencing sound effects or arps.

First hardware synth
Very straightforward interface, tons of fx and modulation options once you get comfortable experimenting in that area, based on your music styles: you’d get a good use out of this as it was apparently created with a Roland Juno emulation in mind. Also, there’s tons of cool tutorials for this synth as well. Another option is the Korg Minilogue XD, less voices though. But you can put these cool Sinevibes plugins in the synth and come up with some unique sounds.
Great for beginners and fun for veterans
The saying goes "Jack of trades, master of none". I would say this is a pretty accurate description for the Minilogue. This is the swiss army knife of synths, which is great, depending on your needs. There's almost nothing this thing cant produce, but it isn't going to sound as rich as other synths,...

What kind of synth should I get for my sister?
Korg Minilogue fits the bill , can get a used one for about $400 USD, has 4 note polyphony, very little menu diving , and simple subtractive synthesis with knob per function. If the tiny keys are a drawback , hook a bigger midi keyboard up to it. Can often find a m-audio keystation 49 for like $50 used.
