Minilogue is an interesting beast, a decent enough old-school analogue synth with a good set of modern, digital features that make it much easier to live with than Korg's other analogue offerings. 5mm earbuds that I keep connected to it all the time. It’s small enough that I can keep it in my narrow little bedside table drawer, meaning it’s always close by when I feel like a quick jam. The faders move a little too easily for my taste, but they’re very responsive and accurate, so in practice they’re a joy to use.

Roland Jupiter Xm has RD piano model, can run on batteries and has built-in speakers. And tons of features and sounds.

For super affordability and some polyphony, maybe a microKorg or MiniNova? Or for about the same price as a Minilogue, a Roland JD-XI or a Hydrasynth Explorer.

The waveform display is not just fun but actually useful, you can see the effect of tweaks, not just hear it. The bass sounds great. One star off, because there are minor 'clicks' as others posted, but with some tuning it doesn't bother too much.

I've used it for bass a few times when playing live and it's great. It doesn't have the deep bass "floor" of a Moog of course, but it has enough to do the job.
