 Added in spaciousness and depth to a speaker that already has it. I was just really impressed something that this sub has that a lot of subs don't this is uh really hard to find, is, is you're getting into some pretty low frequency, music and or movies. You know you hear the subs make the noise, you hear the rumble, but this actually has real texture. I listen to a lot of latin jazz and there's a lot of texture and all the instruments that are on stage and the low frequencies, and i got ta say this - is one of the more textured subs that i've heard at this price point or any price Point really some other cool features that this subwoofer has is

 It'S another reference test for subs that we have i've, had some pretty big subs and played with some pretty big subs. I'M not going to say that this is moving and pressurizing air. The same way that a 15 inch or a 12 inch with a lot of power, but this subwoofer has two 500 watt amplifiers in it, and an opposing driver configuration that really did shine through in the movies for this size. I can't think of anything if you're looking for a microsoft, you know - and you know, even if you're just kind of a movie person not so much for music again, i could not recommend this subwoofer more, but do not take my word for it

 I thought it was a big marketing hype and i got ta say this sub um really surprised me and when i first handled it, i thought it might just a little the build quality on this is just top notch. I mean even for a sub that costs. Fifteen hundred dollars, this thing is a tank. It'S built like a sub that costs actually much more than that uh

 It really is like the perfect aesthetic match for an ls50 meta or the ls50 wireless for which we spent a lot of time. With both those uh doing stereo listening and just seeing how this sub did for music and and tv and movies, but i got ta say that you know even for uh speakers that aren't kef. If you just need a small sub uh, i can't think of any other sub on the market that does what this does this really dips very low? Now it says it has. It goes up to 105 db and it's not doing 11 hertz at that level

 Ordered probably the last available KEF KC62 sub in the UK kuntil KEF ship more to retailers in the next 4 weeks). It arrived this afternoon. Wow. This things is bonkers

 I've been listening to hires Quobuz albums and I have literally never heard my favourite music like this before. I am now seeimg the allure of teasing every last drop of detail out to enjoy. It also makes my PS5 sound incredible. Having used a soundbar and sub previously, this is a whole different level

I am absolutely blown away by my KEF gear. The Powernode 2i also does an amazing job. I can't imagine what a Class A amp would sound like. I feel I've reached the perfect place for me and my budget

Small but perfectly formed

 Tweeter in the middle mid base driver around the outside notice, mid bass, because it its main job is to do mid-range and bass. It is still doing that it is not high pass filtered, it's still running at its natural level. I guess it's, i won't say full range because it can't do full range because it only goes down to 47 hertz, but we haven't done anything to the ls50 meta. We haven't high pass filtered those at all, so we're just adding a dose of like

 This is the kind of the way that these things sort of lock together to produce a crossover, and this part here is, what's called a low pass filter. So it only lets low frequencies through. So if we cross the sub over say 45 hertz, and if it's 50 we're going to be up here and if we go back down to 30, we'll move down here. So this is, this area is determined by the low pass filter

 We have to mess around with the gain setting the crossover setting. We have to dial it in well, actually, in this particular case using the the app. I don't want to point to those there because we use the app to do that to integrate this sub with the ls50 wireless 2.

 The sub blends in beautifully, to the point where I forget that it's even there. Its tiny form factor makes it easy to place, even with the limited space that I have, which helps me justify the cost of the thing.

 In comes the KC62, which was launched just recently. It's a compact sub, which has been marketed with some physics defying specs and a price tag that's way higher that what seems reasonable. Despite that, this seemed like the perfect sub for my small space - and it is. 

The sub doesn't just make up for the now tamed bass of the LS50Ws, it adds so much more depth. I'm using the KW1 wireless adapter kit, and it just works. The sub blends in beautifully, to the point where I forget that it's even there.  This room is actually really big, it's about, um, I'm going to say like 25 feet wide, and it's kind of messy back there, so I'm not going to pan that way, you're going to, it's like 25 by 40, and it fills the entire room with bass. When I ran the auto EQ using my Anku receiver, I felt like, uh, when I had it, I had to add like about 4 dB to make it, to get it to sound where I liked it, but here I just kind of wanted something more mellow, a little smaller, a little more, I don't know, a little less in your face, because even the PB2000s were like almost the same size as the PB3000s, they're like huge, I mean I'm going to put, in a later shot, I'm going to put, uh, these next to the PB3000 in the theater, and you're going to see the size difference there, it is enormous, they are so much bigger. So it's something you've got to be aware, that when you're getting these, the, an imported SVS, a ported SVS sub, you've got to be aware that they're really big, the sealed boxes are much smaller, they actually extend, so you're losing about maybe 5 to 10 dB overhead, but you're gaining extension down to, I mean, when you see the graph, it goes to 10 dB, 10 Hz, like straight line, in this room, which is incredible. Okay, so this gives you a really good, uh, view of the size difference, you got the PB3000s on the bottom, and the SB2000s, and here's kind of like a side view, they're very small, here's the other side, um, so I'm basically gonna, I'm not gonna pull the PB3000s to out of the room, cause they weigh almost 90 pounds, I'm gonna slide them to the front, like put them right in front of this chair, I don't think it's gonna affect sound, and if it does it'll be negligible, um, so I'm gonna put the SB3000s where the PB3000s are, and move the PB's forward, and it should be just fine, so there they are again, I'm gonna put them side next to them so you can kind of see, there they are, grill's off, um, you can, you know, the driver and the PB3000s is noticeably bigger, but uh, yeah, there it is without the grill, one thing to note, they have, these are a really nice rubber surround, and they have a very similar, say maybe the PB's are slightly thicker, but they have a different woofer design, it has the SBS logo, this is the PB, the SBS logo is in the SB as well, which is nice, I think the 1000 series doesn't have that, so I'm glad they kept the logo on these, the only bummer is the little light there that shines, it shines red when it's in standby mode, and green when it's powered on, here's the back panel of the SB3000, you got your, you got your volume, phase control, which I have set to zero phase, you can go from zero to 180, and a crossover point, I have it set to the LFE point, which is the, which would be the maximum here, um, you have, um, you have a trigger input, which is kind of cool, I don't use that though, and auto, uh, auto standby, or just playing on all the time, I have mine set to auto, and you have some line level ins and outs, I just connected to the LFE input, which is the one on the right, the red one on the right, and you got your power and AC cord input there, so now you can see, uh, the SB3000s are, uh, have very big shoes to fill, so I got that one over there, um, yeah, let's see how they perform, so in order to get kind of like a baseline of what I'm currently working with, to see how well the SB2000s perform, then I'm gonna just measure the PB3000s without any EQ, because, and uh, no phase, not messing with phase, no EQ, to kind of keep it level, at a level playing field, because the SB2000s cannot, there's, they don't have a DSP, so it's kind of unfair that I can perform EQ on the PB3000s, so I just kind of want to keep it at the same feature set, that way it's fair, alright, so this is the PB3000s, with no EQ and no phase, it's still pretty good, but not as good, so now I'm gonna, I'm going to bring in the SB2000s now, okay, so I just plugged in the SB2000s, so let's take a measurement, so they kind of peak here at about 35, 36Hz, about 36Hz, there's like a peak, so it kind of follows what the, you know, the PB3000s do, but just with less output, so I guess the question is, can I get it to output as high as the PB3000s, and the easy answer is probably yes, and would they be good enough, given the fact that I paid $1,000 for both, so I gave it a good 11dB boost here, in the receiver menu, so let's give it a measurement, and see if I can bring it as loud, so I'd say that pretty much matches the, the volume at 20Hz, but look at that, so one thing I want to mention is that, yeah, I can get, I can get the SB3000s to play as louder as louder than the PB3000s, but I should note that I had to, in the receiver, I had both of the PB3000s, I had one set to negative eleven and a half, and the other one set to negative eleven, and these I have, to get this up here, to where it's, around here where it's almost at the same level as the PB3000s, I had to push the SB3000s to, I think one was at zero, and the other one was plus, or negative 0

. So my final thoughts on the SB2000s is, they're really great, um, I think they, they exceeded my expectations. When I ran them in the main home theater room, I kind of had them at a volume, when I did the graph earlier, I tried to, you know, get the output as high as the PB2000s, and I felt that that was a bit much. I think I would probably, uh, have them a little lower than how I had them set

SVS SB-2000 Review: Still Good in 2022 and Beyond?

 Unfortunately there is also still an annoying light on the front, however some black tape can fix that. In listening tests the SB 2000 proved to be a fantastic performer, delivering deep and well timed bass that has far more impact than its diminutive frame would suggest. The sub is easy to position and integrates well into other systems, making it a great buy for the price. As such we are happy to award the SVS SB 2000 at AVForums highly recommended badge

 At $800 it seems like a bargain when compared to the SVS products. Look for the review of that soon.  To sum things up here is a quick list of pros and cons.  PROS: 1) Build quality 2) Sound quality  CONS: 1) Size - this is not a true 12" sub 2) Sound volume - this is for rooms under 400 sq

 I mostly listen to music and play video games in this area. Watching movies was not a concern. I thought a sealed sub would deliver the type of sound I was looking for. While the type of sound was delivered the volume simply was not

  This thing is tiny! I was wanting a 12" subwoofer and ended up with a tweener(it's in between a 10" & a 12"). The speaker enclosure is about the size of an average 10" sub, it only measures 14 inches square. The cone of the speaker measures 8" across. The 10" sub in my bedroom measures 7

 SVS rates this speaker at 500 watts RMS, but it sounds more like 200 watts.  I wanted a sub that would compliment my Klipsch R-28F tower speakers in a room that is 500 sq. ft. with an 11' high ceiling and tile floors

Size Matters! Buyer Beware...

 It just wasn't that impressive.I traced it to my Sony STR-DA5400ES amp's automatic calibration system. For some reason, it kept reducing the sub's output. I gave up on the auto-calibration and went with manual setup and a Blu-ray setup discAIX Records - Blu-Ray Audio Calibration Disc and HD Music Sampler that has frequency sweeps and phasing setup for 5

 I measured my speaker distance using a Bosch laser measureBosch DLR130K Laser Measure (Discontinued by Manufacturer) from my seating position and adjusted distances accordingly. Then using the setup disc and a sound pressure meter app on my iPhone, listened to the white noise from each channel. Instructions said that each channel should output the same dB. I cranked up the sub (using both the sub's volume control and the Sony amp's electronic volume adjustments) until it matched the sound pressure levels of the satellites

 And I needed to keep the wife happy. The MX105 was huge. Good, but huge.  The new sub had to fit under a strange low shelf than had only 14-5/8" of vertical clearance and 18" deep

 Loud and low.  A good test of a sub's range is early on in Guardians Of The Galaxy where Peter jumps into his ship in slow motion to escape. The sound designers inserted one of those "bass slides to 20Hz" just to show off the subwoofers. That scene was unsatisfying until I got the sub calibrated

Rattles The Drywall

 The sub's performance is powerful and deep, but a little uncontrolled. It would be unfair to call it boomy, but it err's on the side of too much and lacks finesse. For home theater installations that want booms and bangs, this will deliver. I won't recommend it for the sub in a traditional stereo setup
