Behringer Neutron vs Dreadbox Typhon

Good luck at the bottom end of the pond - I'm spending my future dollars on gear that is properly built and will last more than two or three years.

I have a few analog and digital synths that cover a lot of great sound design options, but I want something to fit in to a "live" setup that can just have a nice solid sound and with a little tweakability. I want to mentally simplify. I can do weird stuff with the other boxes, so I want to see this as a thing that always does just X or Y (probably bass or arps, but we'll see)

If you want to pay Behringer-like prices for a mono synth but would prefer to get something that isnt a shameless clone, has modern features and effects, while also supporting a small company...

The truly irksome thing is that they sent the synth back as repaired, which it certainly wasn't, and when I questioned them an what they'd done, they'd just installed the firmware and then tested it with a midi cable into the synth, nearly avoiding the problem of a malfunctioning, poorly written or dead USB driver. Why update the firmware for USB and then tested it with a midi cable? So now I'm left with sidelining this synth of the main USB hub and acquiring a function midi to USB converter/host to drive it from one of my USB A equipped keyboards. So sad.

2) If you plan to be DAWless, then only buy gear that is capable of a hardware MIDI connection (TRS or 5 PIN DIN plug). MIDI IN is paramount, but MIDI OUT + THRU is great to have as well. USB MIDI either requires a DAW or a MIDI host (which can be expensive), so a unit having USB MIDI is certainly a plus, but generally won't be used in a DAWless setup.

This is my first analog synthesizer and I'm not looking back. I always lacked is a nice low end in my tracks and always wondered why I cannot get it to sound so good like popular artists whether I use serum, sylenth1 etc. Neutron is amazing at bass sound, very nice and deep! As well as at everything else too. Filter sounds great! You will not be disappointed

I'm looking to get another smaller monosynth to do basslines and arps so that I can have a tweakable bassline instead of the static recorded version. I think the dreadbox typhon looks really cool, but I would like some input into other synths that can do similar things.
