6 - Lack of improvement gen-on-gen. Every manufacturer has coasted a bit throughout the pandemic, but ThinkPads haven't markedly improved in terms of weight, build quality, battery life, and even performance in the past 3-4 years (my frame of reference is a T480s from 2018 to P14s gen 2 in 2021). If 3 years yields little performance increase then why upgrade at all?.

T14 AMD (P14s AMD) mini-review

Everything is snappy and fantastic, and the iGPU is a huge step up from Intel GPU territory, meaning it can do a whole lot more than just minecraft at 30fps. I have not tested many games yet but I suspect it will be fine for my light gaming needs. Thermals are also very fine, but I have not pushed it very far yet so we'll see. **Linux support:** Everything I've tested so far works under Linux except the IR camera and the microphone.

That you can't really see an improvement between the P14s and T480s does in actuality show the improvement - because the T14 the P14s is based upon is a cheaper, more affordable option than the T480s, yet it provides the same mobility. Essentially, Lenovo managed to offer the same level of mobility in a less expensive package.
