Svs sb 1000 pro for 500$ with whatever reputable powered speakers fit the rest of the 500$ and suite my/your personal taste. From what I'm gathering that sub is just too solid not to prioritize, and will easily scale with a speaker upgrade. Not worth it imo to spend a good amount on a sub just to have to completely replace it to scale with a speaker upgrade. Plus that sub is the only thing I feel confident is immensely valuable for its price, and defines its price bracket by setting a high bar.

Bought this as a Xmas gift for my husband but somehow did not include quick start guide or power chord. So must now see if we have a chord that works. Kinda annoying.

Super nice clean bass, I use it for mainly music in my home office. Know it’s limitations and keep your expectations in check. To me, this not a great HT sub. What I can say is it sounds great. I hear things I never heard before. The clarity of the high notes is exciting. The way sounds are initiated is delightfully crisp.

Have watched several action movies (Pearl Harbor, Avatar, Secretariat, etc.) with Dolby Surround sound. Every engine roar, explosion, horse gallop comes through my SVS SB-1000 Pro like I'm part of the movie! Outstanding!!

This is a great solution for a small-to-medium-ish room. I returned it and upgraded to the SB-3000 since my space left no overhead for the SB-1000... it was always at full blast...
