I 100% agree with the Daiwa Tatula. I own a Curado DC and I bought my son a Tatula for 1/2 the price and in my opinion it’s a better casting reel.

Also to dissent from the other poster, if you’re only choosing between those two reels, I’d get the Curado. The SLX DC essentially is a $100 reel with an expensive chip in it, which is exactly what it feels like to me.

I have 30 on my Curado DC just because. I have been very impressed with the 20lb X9 so far and would buy that line again.

Keeps your line from fluffing up on long casts but that’s about it. It backlashed on me 5 times in a row on brake setting 4 and the tension knob set for a very slow lure drop. Got a curado dc about a month ago. Worth every penny. It is amazingly smooth and the casting distance is awesome, not to mention the breaking system is fantastic. Thinking of “upgrading” to an Antares dc
