In fact, I'm so happy with the quality of the sound (which blows away my next nicest pair) that I'm already looking forward to finding something new. My setup is simple: Schiit Stack (Magni 3+ & Modi). I currently own: Audio Technica M50x (my first baby), Sennheiser HD 6XX, and the DT 1990s.

First of a lol, I love these headphones; the $200 I paid for them was perfect. But these aren't the end-all masters of audio. Gaming? Great. Music? Fantastic. YouTube or podcasts? Phenomenal. These are very versatile headphones and certainly deserve praise, but they aren't on the "$600+' level.

These are a very bass boosted pair of headphones that sound good enough to replace my IEM’s when on the go. They get uncomfortable after an hour though, so these are only recommended to wear on short bursts.

I bought my HD6XX from Drop during the BF discount period for $179. I do not need another pair of headphones but at the discounted price, I am curious to find out if all the hypes are just fluff especially with rather dated dynamic driver technology. With most headphones I feel like only part of the music is in focus, with the clear every little detail is where it is supposed to be. The bass is engaging and has a great slam. Compared to a neutral reference like the K612 or even the HD 600 it sounds a little darker, but still very natural.

This was one of the first true “audiophile” pair of headphones I purchased, for the price (was $199.99 at the time of purchase) I think it is simply unbeatable in sound quality. The soundstage (the three-dimensionality of the sound) is extremely wide as it is an open-back type headphones, and detail...

Granted I am comparing to bassy headphones, but even compared to my Sennheier HD6xx, they have minimal bass and no punch. The midrange again lacks in the low end, but the upper mids are fine, if not forward.

What can you say about the near-universal studio reference headphone (not that studios have ONLY Sennheiser 6-series, but almost none have NO Sennheisers of this lineage lol). Unlike many longtime WAV-heads, I don't have a long history with the ancestor of this headphone, the HD650...but I am TOTALL...
