Miele Dynamic U1 HomeCare

Poking around on their website, one of their contact addresses was literally just a Gmail account (Shark's actual CS address is consumer-services@sharkninja.com). This Miele U1 is a really flawed vacuum, and I'd recommend staying away from it (speaking as someone who owns one).

It delivers superb cleaning performance on bare floors and does a great job of picking up various kinds of debris on both low and high-pile carpet. It's extremely simple to maintain, with an intuitive design that makes it easy to take apart and reassemble. There's a few quality of life enhancements, including an on-board tool rack, a self-adjusting vacuum head, and an adjustable suction level

I think I'd like to get an upright bagged model. We have mostly hardwood and tile with a few low rugs. It looks like the Miele U1 is what I should get, but I really didn't want to give $700 for a vacuum. Everything else that fits my use case and is in the $250-$350 price range are all canisters.

Looking to step up my vacuum game from my Eufy Homevac S11. I have a 1500sf single level house with hardwood floors and area rugs. I also have two medium shedding dogs and a cat. I've been set on buying a new Sebo Felix ($700), but I just found a used Miele Dynamic U1 for $100.

I just got my Homecare Miele 2 weeks ago. I love it. I actually don't dread vacuuming anymore. I replaced an old Kirby that I cursed at and dragged around for way too long.

On the other hand, I'd highly recommend you stay away from the Miele Dynamic U1. If we're comparing a Dynamic U1 to a Felix w/ Parquet brush on hard floors, the U1 is going to weigh almost twice as much as the Felix and be significantly bulkier to maneuver around.

Maybe you can get a good price on it even. I know my store had them on clearance. My Miele U1 has no issues cleaning up after my long haired cat and he sheds bad because he doesn’t let me brush him.

That said the U1 is powerful and quiet and a smooth vacuum. If you decide you like it make sure you test everything and check that there isn't dust in the bag chamber, if they have been using generic bags they can leak dust and put more wear on the motor.

If you've already got a decent full-size vacuum like your Miele, I think it's fine to keep this machine around (especially since it's free). The V15 is notorious for being a little heavy in the hand (large dust cup, combined weight of motor and battery at your wrist), but then again, so's the Miele U1. Your U1's also gonna be good for cleaning the cyclones every so often since they will hold onto a bit of dust every time you empty it.

I noticed this was full of dust and dirt. Not wanting to take any chances with my new machine, I replaced that filter. I had been using the Electrobrush on setting 1 (closest to the floor), which I assume was too low and contributed to the issue. The carpet in my apartment is relatively flat/worn (think standard bedroom carpet, but less plushy, nor berber), so I assumed using it on 1 was ok. Should this be set to 2 or 3 instead to help prevent the issue for the type of carpet I have?
