Great monitor! But NO disable deep sleep option..
Im upgrading from an Acer Predator 27" 1440p 144hz screen currently with a 1080ti, I am really impressed with the resolution bump from 1440p. I wouldn't say it's groundbreaking but it's definitely noticeable. So far ive played Destiny 2 & Rocket League on it & it looks great. Since I don't have a DS...

I found myself writing down some of my findings with the new LG 27GN950 which I received this Monday morning. I've been putting it through its paces doing some gaming and video work and I thought I would share some of my initial experiences with you. Considering my last two days of extensive use, it honestly has been amazing! Coming from the Asus PG248Q it has been the breath of fresh air I always needed.

LG 27GN950-B Monitor Review (2020) – 4k 144Hz Gaming Machine
So overall, the LG 27GN950-B is a great gaming monitor for a new shiny setup.. It has a 4k screen with a high refresh rate for anyone with a system that can push out those high frames or, if you just want the option in the future

Image quality is very good; be aware of the fan
The quality of the image is beautiful and the fast response works well. No complaints on that front. Text looks super sharp and easy to read; I used it for web browsing and text editing and it definitely helped my eyes. I tried some HDR games, and they seemed fine. The graphics were beautiful, but I...

We all hate Backlight Bleeding and IPS Glow, so... What's the solution?
Can buy 2x OLED TV. LG 27GN950 and updated version 27GP950 actually very good monitors and relatively fairly priced. They still have the glow and poor contrast but i find them most special IPS monitors in the market right now.
\- The ports on the back are extremely difficult to access, foolishly so. The bottom lip of the monitor in the rear serves no purpose other than to really crimp the shit out of your cables. I'm using a VESA certified KableDirekt DP 1.4 cable and two high end HDMI 2.0 cables, very tight and unnecessarily crowded port area. \- Very minimal overall GUI options, surprisingly so, nothing huge, it looks and works great, though nowhere near the ability to manipulate the image like the 27GN950.
Poor quality control, came with a black speck encased inside the display
For $800 you'd expect great QC for a monitor like this. My monitor has a black speck of dust or something that's encased inside the screen. It's super annoying because that little black speck can be seen pretty much anywhere no matter what you have on the screen (besides plain black). This makes scr...

I was sceptical to begin with! I was on course to purchase the LG 27GN950 when it releases, as I was fed up with the slow dark transitions and ghosting of my previous VA panel. I didn't really want to transition to a 4K monitor though...with all the extra horsepower it requires for minimal benefit at 27 inches. I also still wanted the contrast levels of a VA panel so when I started to read some positive remarks about this panel it didn't take much convincing for me to at least try it out, and yes it is fast, minimal motion blur, no ghosting, no black smearing...it is a sight to behold for a VA.

The Perfect 4K 144hz GAMING Monitor!? (LG 27GN950 Review) | The Tech Chap
So, overall, the gm 950 is packed with great tech and if you can fully take advantage of that 4k 144, then you're going to have a great time with this. And if you do have you know a limited desk space, then maybe the more compact 27 inch size will actually be perfect for you.
