LG Delivers Much Needed Quality Control to the Realm of 144 Hz, 2560x1440, IPS-type Displays
I write this review as the former owner of 3 Asus PG279Qs and one PG279QZ. I was drawn to this realm of the monitor market because I do not believe that 4K displays are worth it at this particular point in time. As far as I see it, the majority are a compromise as the bandwidth requirements for runn...

This monitor cost me £300 and it is leagues ahead of all my other gaming displays when it comes to picture quality. Leaving sharpness out of it, the image is more uniform, it has higher contrast than the gaming LG's calibrated out of the box, look quite good, the screen coating isn't overly grainy unlike 99% of gaming screens, no silly P3 with lack of good sRGB mode making video games look like rainbow road. If a fairly cheapo monitor can achieve what I'd say is quite good image quality in general, not just for a monitor why can't we just have that in gaming screens?

LG over-promised & under-delivered
LG set my expectations high for this monitor from when they first debuted it at CES 2019, but they have only let me down after release. Even a couple months before release they were advertising this monitor as g-sync monitor, overclocking capabilities, and with sphere lighting. Then about the week o...

This one is by far the most well known, and a very loved monitor overall. Pros:. The model without the USB hub, (LG 27GN850) is cheaper than the other monitors when they are not on sale. Has a lot more reviews than the other monitors.

Best 1440p 144hz monitor for gaming?
The LG27GL850 is the nicest gaming monitor I've ever had. I think you should be able to find the 27GN850 a little cheaper. The ability of the pixels to refresh so fast makes it amazingly clear and the ips panel is pretty damn good.

LG just made the Best Monitor of 2019 – 27GL850 Review
Now the monitor still does have a g-sync sticker on it because it received the g-sync compatible label from nvidia, so you'll have variable refresh rate, regardless of which graphics team you play for, but you'll miss out on some of the extras that would have come with a G-Sync hardware, module and full certification like an unlimited variable, refresh window and 165 hertz overclocking, which i guess brings us perfectly then to the 27 gl850s downsides. The first is the lack of hdr.

Don't buy this for the Series X/S
While I think this is a beautiful monitor panel, with rich colors and great resolution, my problem with this monitor was that it's not compatible with the highest settings of the Series X/S. I think that LG should update it's firmware in these models. Let me explain. The highest settings you can run...

For somewhat dingy games, like the jungles in Tomb Raider, this gives a nice vibrant green that doesn’t look fake and is a lot less dull. But in a game like Diablo 3, the reds are eye-burning in HDR Effect mode, which I guess is appropriate considering the game you’re playing. For me, those super-bright reds hurt my eyes. The 850 allows you to find a happy medium, but the 83A forces you to play with the somewhat duller colors, which really aren’t dull but just feel that way by comparison, or the extra vibrant HDR Effect colors.

Overall a great monitor
Edit: Got one that has minimal BLB compared to this one. Now I don't struggle by looking at left corner of the monitor while watching movies or anything. IPS glow exists but BLB is minimal compared to the last one. Will update the picture later on. Colors are beautiful, response time is great, g-syn...
