 Hey everyone, in this video I'm going to be demoing the Evans G2 Coated Bass Drum Head. Now this is a 2-ply head and each ply is 7 mils thick. So if you're playing the G1 Coated, which is a 1-ply 10 mil thick head, but you want maybe a little bit more control of the sustain and the overall resonance, then you can consider trying out the G2 Coated. There's no external or internal muffling, other than the Drumeo Hoodie that we have on the inside

 So it's a very open sounding drumhead still, it's very, very resonant, it's something that you could tune high and you could tune low and really kind of adjust the sound of it just by adding muffling and playing with the different types of tunings. And so I like the drumhead, although my preference is more of an EMAD Coated, just because I find I like something with less sustain and more control but lots of punch. But this is a great sounding head and I can see myself using this for very specific styles of music. So if I was going to play jazz, if I was going to play funk and want something a little bit more particular, then I would check out something like this

These heads really bring out the full range sound of your kit. I also suggest the Evan's resonator heads for an all around inexpensive yet dramatic upgrade. A++

A CLASSIC GREAT SOUNDING  DRUMHEAD

Drum heads are a personal preference, although Evans heads with their Level 360 technology are the easiest drum heads to tune, hands down. I think the coated G2s sound great - you may have a different preference, but the real review her is of the three-pack. For comparison's sake, it's like buying the heads for the two smaller toms, and getting the head for the larger tom for an extra 2. Great deal

 They put it somewhere in the middle But my last head I played for Five six months at least and it gave me no issues So enough talking now I'm going to demonstrate how it sounds at low medium and high tunings and I am playing this on my 14 by six and a half Ludwig supraphonic snare drum. Let's check it out. So this snare head has like two and a half plies of film on it And what I mean by that is the outer ply is five millimeter film on the inside It's seven point five millimeters and on the underside There's a small ring of two millimeter film for overtone control and that is Amazing that overtone control combined with the small vents drilled around this entire snare head are So perfect and I just think work together so so well. After going through the frustration of trying to remove the ringing overtones of my maple snare, going through Ambassadors and Emperors, I finally decided to give this a try before I threw my snare out the window. Never in a million years did I think I would be writing a review for a drum head

Tuned up right away. Has that 2-ply thud when hit dead-center. Great for Rock and Metal.

Not much for press rolls or jazz or fusion nuances. For that get yourself a 1-ply without coating.

 But this is an awesome sounding head, again very, very versatile. You could use this for many different styles of music. It's all just a matter of like with the rock song, do you want it to have a nice open sounding snare with lots of ring or do you want a more controlled and very dry sound? You know it's those types of minute details that you can talk about when you're discussing the different heads that you're choosing, especially when you're talking about one with precision drilled holes and one without those, right. So it really, you know, comes down to you following your ears and figuring out the exact sound that you're looking for for the style of music you're playing

 Then it also has that 2mm control ring around the outer side of the head underneath. It just kind of floats and really adds a lot of control and cuts some of that unwanted sustain. So it's a really good sounding head. I find the reason that I like the dry is just because I like that even more controlled sound
