Canon Imageprograf Pro-1000

The P5000 has a heftier price tag, but as this is a long term investment, I wouldn’t mind paying more if it’s a better option in the long run. But I also haven’t heard the best things about it at times — people have claimed it prints excessively slow, gets clogged easily, etc. I took a brief look at some Canon printers, and the PRO-1000 stood out to me, but there’s been complaints about the maintenance cartridge wasting ink.

This Canon Pro-1000 chews through expensive ink like no other. Each and every time it reboots or power is cycled to this device it consumes a boatload of ink. There’s even a catch tray that needs to be purchased to capture all of the ink this printer wastes. I am not afraid of spending money to refi...

What kind of paper are you planning to use?

Have a looksie at the Epson Surecolor SC-P700 or Canon Imageprograf Pro-300

The A2 printers have much larger ink tanks and can print in A2: Epson Surecolor SC-P900 or Canon Imageprograf Pro-1000

It will randomly throw an error during print (and no error code will show) and waste you a expensive paper. Also it will sometimes don’t detect paper although there is nicely placed. I only did less than 50 prints and got 6 wasted Error prints. Disappointed and returned.

Canon Pixma TS9550 or Epson Ecotank ET-8550 if you want to print photos. Both printers have an A4 scanner.

Photo printers like the Canon Imageprograf Pro-300 or Epson Surecolor SC-P700 are more expensive and don't have a scanner.

These prints are unmatched in a printer for this price. Outstanding. However, the Print Studio Pro app. it comes with, is terrible. Unless you don't mind prints being printed off center regardless of what settings you use. Endless warning windows popping up telling you that whatever you are doing it...

​. Also consider how much you want to print, there are ink cost savings going to higher end printers like the canon pro-1000, Epson P-900. For example, the P-900 ink prices is easily half that of the P700 but the p-900 printer itself is more expensive.

Awesome printer- as advertised. Slow, but that's expected for the quality you're getting. Startup time is long, so don't be in a hurry. Printer is larger and much heavier than anticipated, so you'll need a sturdy place to put it. Price seems steep, but it makes VERY nice prints. Overall, very happy.

Excellent print results. Wish it printed bigger. Wish it supported linux. Wish the software was faster and easier to use. Both printer and ink are crazy expensive, but to be fair, the ink does last for a while, and papers and frames are also expensive...

The drivers and settings have been very clunky and I’m still trying to get it installed correctly, but even so, the printer itself makes outstanding images.
