Canon Pixma MX922
Still In Use
It works great.
I liked that it had separate color cartridges, and a friend recommended it based on personal experience. It doesn't balk at off-brand ink.

Canon PIXMA i4500
Wear and Tear
The print head no longer moves from the home position: I assume that the stepper motor driving the print head gave out, but it could be a circuitry issue.
I got the printer for nearly free as part of a new computer bundle. It was a solid printer for home use. Quite fast, but it also did a great job with photographs (with the right paper and configuration). It supported CUPS, so it was usable on linux. Surprisingly, after using it for 7+ years on a mac, I switched to linux and noticed a "2-sided printing" option was available. I'm not sure why the option isn't exposed with the MacOS driver, but it has a duplex unit!!!

Canon Pixma MX Series
Early Failure
Print head "wore out" overnight after 2.5 years, used to print approx 20 sheets a month. I had three of these printers, and the same thing happened to all of them.
Nice print quality; good ink quality
