Canon Imageprograf Pro-1000 vs Epson SureColor P700

There’s even a catch tray that needs to be purchased to capture all of the ink this printer wastes. I am not afraid of spending money to refill supplies but unit is completely off the hook. It really wouldn’t be that bad if I was printing a lot of photos or documents and the ink was consumed. This printer consumes ink all by itself

Ideally, Epson would give its users more ink choice by offering higher-yield alternatives to the 25ml ink cartridges. But even there, it's hard to be anything but impressed looking at the P700 versus the older P400. The latter lists for a couple of hundred dollars less, but it uses only eight inks that come in 14ml cartridges. And it has virtually no control panel to speak of, let alone a graphical display

I have had it now for over a month and the fact that I can just go over to my computer and print from home is absolutely WONDERFUL!! Love the quality of the prints, people have asked where I got my pictures printed at and can not believe it when I tell them I printed them at home. My only wish is that it was a little wider to do a 20" wide x whatever length (in other words that it had a roll handler on it so that I could print longer prints, like panoramics). But over all the color is absolutely wonderful and deep and rich. The ease of use is awesome

5x11 award certificates in black and white, 100-200 a week, so it needs to be reliable. The best option I've seen is the Epson P700, $800, which seems kinda overkill for a certificate. Thanks!
