Burton ion is a top tier boot. Can’t wrong there if it fits you well. I decided to go adidas accera for resort and vans infuse for split after considering burton ion for everything. I ruined my adidas tactical v quickly by touring in them.

Burton ion. Each pair lasts well over a decade of hard, frequent riding at snowbird each season. They have been consistent each season and completely comfortable. Just my opinion.

They were a not-too-stiff, not-too-soft do it all binding. sort of disappeared between my boot (Burton Ion) and board (can't remember what I rode with them). and production quality was definitely on point. and the straps were awesome, super nice fit.

**Burton Ion**: Rode this boot the last two seasons (50-80 days a season.) It's a super comfy boot and has a bit of a smaller footprint compared to other boots, which is nice if you have a big foot. Stiffness held up very well until the end of this season for me, any boot that lasts more than a season is 2 thumbs up in my book.

I bought the Burton Ion boots with the step on bindings. The boots were miserably uncomfortable. I switch the the DC step ons, and not only are they way more comfortable, but the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. Give them a shot.

I had zero issues, they handled my abuse and have really great control once you get used to them. I am using the Burton Ion boots, they fit great but I don’t like the speed laces, I might get the Kendo boots for next season, I like just basic laces.

Forget about the Genesis binding it will be too soft for you. I would recommend stepping up to the Ion Step On boot though as it will last longer, has a better liner and has three points of adjustment rather than, really one boa, on the photon. The other boa just handles the strap over your foot... Really if you're over 200lbs, the Ion is the only choice I'd you don't want your boot to be a soft noodle after a 50 days... /End thread.
