 That EVA as well also works as a really good dampening layer. So add to that the rebound dampening that's added inside it as well. And you've got a boot that sits you super close to the board but it's also a boot that really dampens your foot out, gives you a smooth all day riding feel to that boot. The problem is if you go too close to the board sometimes the vibrations from the board can work through to the feet but with that combination of EVA and rebounds it's not going to happen on this boot

 What it's also going to do is it's going to lock this liner right into the shell as well and again working with all those other systems on this boot it's just going to give you a really responsive and dynamic ride. Anything that you put into this is just going to get transferred straight to the board. So it is going to be super responsive. What that harness also does as well it actually frees up the bottom part of the boot because if you look where it mounts it mounts from here and comes up to here so this bottom part is free to flex a lot more naturally and it again just works to give this boot it's really smooth overall feel

 Now this state of the art liner is constructed of Ultralon heat mouldable foam. Now Ultralon foam is one of the best heat mouldable foams there is. When you heat mould this boot it really does change and it really does sit around the foot perfectly. That great fit is just going to give you a really dynamic ride and it's also going to be super comfortable as well

 So let's take a look at the liner because the liner in this boot is something a little bit special. So the iron utilises what Burton call their Life Liner. Now this state of the art liner is constructed of Ultralon heat mouldable foam. Now Ultralon foam is one of the best heat mouldable foams there is

Anyone riding Nidecker Kaon-X binding?

Forget about the Genesis binding it will be too soft for you. I would recommend stepping up to the Ion Step On boot though as it will last longer, has a better liner and has three points of adjustment rather than, really one boa, on the photon. The other boa just handles the strap over your foot.

. Really if you're over 200lbs, the Ion is the only choice I'd you don't want your boot to be a soft noodle after a 50 days..

As the title states ... been riding the same deck for 20+ years (Original Sin Twister ... IYKYK) and it's time to upgrade and embrace/realize my "rad dad" status. Rider specs - 6'3", 220, 12 boot, CO/Rockies, all-mountain/freeride, love to bomb/carve will probably end up in/around the park once my kid gets more comfortable ....

The Photon is a really good medium stiff boot, perfectly suitable for any type of riding, whether that be groomers, park, backcountry, anything. What's great about the Photon is that it's super customizable in terms of how it fits. So you have the Boa system here that controls the lower section of the boot, so to tighten the bottom, you simply pop this side dial and crank down, and that's closing the lower portion of the tongue

 And finally, this is something people don't really think about, but what keeps your feet the warmest is just good, continuous blood flow. So little details in this boot, like the very thin lacing guides, you're not having any chunky plastic where a binding strap can pinch and push and poke something into your foot that's going to cut off circulation and potentially get your feet cold. So really thoughtful details in this boot, great all-mountain, medium stiff with a lot of customization features. This is your Burton Men's Photon Boa

 The other thing in terms of the liner is the Imprint 3 has a few features that are going to keep your feet warm, so it is filled with a fence-lit material that you're probably familiar with in insulated winter soft goods, jackets and pants. It also has a sleeping bag liner in the bottom of your foot that's going to reflect that warmth back up into the boot so you don't lose it out of a cold rubber outsole. And finally, this is something people don't really think about, but what keeps your feet the warmest is just good, continuous blood flow. Burton Photon Boa Snowboard Boot (Men's) | W21/22 Product Review

Boots are super warm and fit very nicely. They definitely have a break in period and I would recommend heat molding them if you get the chance. I chose not to but wish I would have. First wear was a little snug but the do loosen up

Very warm and comfortable

 This thing is going to feel the same way on day one as it does on day 100 and it also has shrinkage footprint reduction technology. This size 10 boot has a size 9 imprint on the snow and that's perfect for anyone with bigger feet. The Photon Boa comes in a lot of different colorways. There's some different lacing options

 It has a very very tall focus style cuff with internal liner locking lace system and sleeping bag reflective foil and what that does is it causes the heat to go back towards your body and the cold actually stays out the bottom of the boot, which is real good, and then of course there's this kind of lacing system with that Boa. It has a locked down control system to keep your heel locked in the heel cup. So with that focus cuff and with the way that the dial is reeled, it actually pulls the tongue closer to the heel pocket for a better secure fit, and then there's this thing. This is the Inprint 3 liner, extremely lightweight, thermal heat moldable

 It has external support panels, internal jay panels, and of course a Velcro closure system. I like this because it's body heat activated, but you can also use a heat molder and it features this thing inside. This is a level 2 footbed. It has an ESS support shank, micro cradle, has perforated top that has a soft touch to it too

 So far, so good, but our three month test period wasn’t long enough to confirm or deny that claim. We liked how the Boa allowed for incremental tightening and loosening on the fly.The Vibram sole was comfy and provided plenty of traction in icy parking lots.
