 That EVA as well also works as a really good dampening layer. So add to that the rebound dampening that's added inside it as well. And you've got a boot that sits you super close to the board but it's also a boot that really dampens your foot out, gives you a smooth all day riding feel to that boot. The problem is if you go too close to the board sometimes the vibrations from the board can work through to the feet but with that combination of EVA and rebounds it's not going to happen on this boot

 What it's also going to do is it's going to lock this liner right into the shell as well and again working with all those other systems on this boot it's just going to give you a really responsive and dynamic ride. Anything that you put into this is just going to get transferred straight to the board. So it is going to be super responsive. What that harness also does as well it actually frees up the bottom part of the boot because if you look where it mounts it mounts from here and comes up to here so this bottom part is free to flex a lot more naturally and it again just works to give this boot it's really smooth overall feel

 Now this state of the art liner is constructed of Ultralon heat mouldable foam. Now Ultralon foam is one of the best heat mouldable foams there is. When you heat mould this boot it really does change and it really does sit around the foot perfectly. That great fit is just going to give you a really dynamic ride and it's also going to be super comfortable as well

 So let's take a look at the liner because the liner in this boot is something a little bit special. So the iron utilises what Burton call their Life Liner. Now this state of the art liner is constructed of Ultralon heat mouldable foam. Now Ultralon foam is one of the best heat mouldable foams there is

Anyone riding Nidecker Kaon-X binding?

Forget about the Genesis binding it will be too soft for you. I would recommend stepping up to the Ion Step On boot though as it will last longer, has a better liner and has three points of adjustment rather than, really one boa, on the photon. The other boa just handles the strap over your foot.

. Really if you're over 200lbs, the Ion is the only choice I'd you don't want your boot to be a soft noodle after a 50 days..

Rider specs - 6'3", 220, 12 boot, CO/Rockies, all-mountain/freeride, love to bomb/carve will probably end up in/around the park once my kid gets more comfortable ....

Closest was Vans Infuse but I really can't deal with how heavy that boot is and all the excess tech. Vans also has pretty shitty manufacturing in my experience, like always having outsoles that are misaligned and glued, or the cuff having an odd angle on one boot.

I've been snowboarding 1-2 times a year for almost a decade now. I've rented the board and boots everytime (not smart) and have been wearing size 10.5 boot, same as my regular shoe size. 

Today I went to a new rental shop and one of the workers there measured me as a 9.5 boot. I put the new boots on and I almost didn't believe it.  

Everything makes sense now. I thought my skill level had plateaued, but in reality, I've been wearing unresponsive boots all this time (I thought it was normal). 

In summary, I am stupid.

Today I learned my boot size...

 But because it comes all the way up here, it's really going to give you a solid foothold and just give you a really responsive feel to the boot. So that also gives you options when you're lacing as well. So you can run this boot relatively loose on the lacing without compromising any of that heel hold. So on those days where you want to be in the park, run this system loose and it's just going to give you mobility

 If you've got this super close and super tight any amount of energy that you put into this is going to transfer straight onto the board and you're going to get a really fast and dynamic ride. You've also got on the inner the 360 degree heat retention system and that is just a heat retention material that has a 360 wrap over the front of the boot and between the liner and the sole unit. That just helps retain warmth in the foot so you're not going to get cold feet on those like freezing cold days. Now the liner is the V3 liner

 Don't put it in your normal oven at home because that will just melt it. You need a special air mounted oven to do that. Ultra cushy inner layer on this liner so it's really well cushioned on the inside, super comfortable. You've also got North Face's flash dry material liner in this as well so that's going to wick away moisture really quickly especially with those side holes as well

 Now one of the big changes on this liner compared to a lot of the other liners in the Vans collection is that neoprene section at the front of the liner. Pretty much most of the forefoot in this boot is made of neoprene material. That just gives you a really comfortable fit and just removes any pressure points because that material stretches really well and just gives you a super comfortable liner. Footbed on this is the V3 three layer pop cush

 I think it really helps when it comes to carving, riding in steep terrain, fitting a board that might be a touch narrower than you'd like. That really helps. And I felt that these were pretty warm too for me personally. But it's really different person to person when it comes to warmth

 And this is the Vans Infuse. I've ridden this over the years and it hasn't changed too much, but I felt like we needed to do an updated review To give you a short summary, this is a very well built, very adjustable, very durable boot that even has reinforcements in the tongue to preserve the flex longevity over a hundred day a year season. It's very comfortable. It has a very unique sole that has excellent board feel in the front, minimal shock absorption there too, but then more shock absorption in the back of the heel

 And I felt like of all the boots, this was definitely the most responsive, but it's still just the kind of responsive I like. It's more on the medium fast side, and it matches up really well with the flex. But when it comes to flex retention and construction and just the way this boot is built, yes, it doesn't have the articulating cuff that you see right here with the Burton Kendo, or like you see with the 32 TM3 XD. That was just an amazingly well built boot

Vans Infuse 2022 Snowboard Boot Review

 It features a 5-9 flex rating and is a great all-mountain freestyle and backcountry boot. It offers a lot of support and a lot of versatility in terms of fit. As you can see, it has traditional laces up the front, which really allow you to crank the laces down, get a really nice snug fit. As you can see, it features a single bow on the side right here

 Another interesting thing about this boot is it features a five to nine flex rating, which depends on basically how much you either tighten down this dial or crank down on the laces. It does feature these removable inserts that go into the tongue. What these do, they're plastic material and they just kind of stiffen up the tongue for more support and response, but overall really great boot, great for intermediate to advanced level rider. Can't say enough good things about these boots

 As you can see, it has traditional laces up the front, which really allow you to crank the laces down, get a really nice snug fit. As you can see, it features a single bow on the side right here. This controls a custom slide guide that goes over the top of your foot. So just crank this down

 Not going to get heel lift in this. It's going to get a really nice, supportive fit. It also has this power cuff on the top, which is a really nice feature I like in boots. You just Velcro this down and it really just hugs your calf back into the top of the liner

Vans Infuse 2019 Snowboard Boot Rider Review - Tactics

 Again you know Pat Moore, he rides these boots and you know what's surprising enough, they do have a fairly small footprint on the snow however, however, they do seem to be quite a bit like kind of bigger in the mid step area around where your ankle strap is. So if you're a guy or girl who's kind of like me, I like to ride really snug bindings but I don't know if I'd put my normal size 11 Vans infuse into a medium size binding because of that larger kind of girth to the mid step of the infuse. So keep that in mind, if you're already maxed out on your straps, on your binding with a low profile boot, you may have a difficult time making this boot fit into a very short strap style ankle binding. Keep that in mind, awesome boot, Pat Moore, good job and Vans, thumbs up

 There's a nice cuff that wraps around this heat moldable V3 liner. That cuff actually goes up fairly high onto that liner and there's additional support panels within it which allows it to be just a little bit more stiff. Now this liner is pretty unique too. Not only is it probably the coolest looking liner that there is because of the checkers, has an X cage wrap around the outside, has additional kind of J bars there and then internal J bars as well

 The Vans Infuse Boots are pretty rugged, pretty wild looking boot right here. It's a high performance, it's an all mountain freestyle boot and this is actually Pat Moore's professional model boot. This is the boot that he wanted from Vans and they gave it to him and it is absolutely packed with technology. You can check it out at thehouse

 Now this is a really stiff boot, you know it's pretty much damn near 10 out of 10, has triple reinforced stitching, a little bit of flex notches but no articulation and then another really unique thing called flex control. Now the flex control is actually in the top. You can take out these 3D molded flex panels that make the boot stiffer across the top of that toe side edge. You can make them feel softer or stiffer on the lateral or media side depending on what your preferences are but there's an ability to control the flex with these flex control sliders which is actually pretty cool
