Tudor Black Bay 58 vs Hamilton Khaki Field

After seeing the Tudor Black Bay 58 on social media I had to go into an AD and see one for myself. Went to the closest AD and found one on their nato strap, tried it on, and fell in love! But I did not buy it on site. I had to try it on the bracelet before pulling the trigger.

The size of this larger one also suits be better than the classically sized smaller ones. The leather strap is also top notch.

In the end, for me, it felt more my style than a sub and has a bit more unique character to it. My favorite element is the contrast between the matte dial and the gilt shiny hands and marker surrounds.

I’ve been setting my eyes on this for a long time now and I’m really happy that I got one now. There’s something in this watch that feels masculine with a i-mean-business vibe.

I love the design and attention to detail this watch has, plus the fact that if you change the strap to a brown leather or even fabric it can be matched with more casual wear. Nice retro styling, simple but well executed. Feels solidly built. Slightly small compared to my other watches, but this is true to the retro aesthetic.

In terms of watch for dollars, it's a terrible bargain. It's obviously great in resale terms, but I don't wear watches for the next owner. I'd take a lightly used Pelagos or Planet Ocean (both around $4k) before spending my money on a Submariner. Or a BB58 if it fit my wrist

(Chinese Air Force Chrono) Not luxury or swiss-made by any means, but an amazing watch for the money (~150-200) from a company with 70 years of horology experience (they make tourbillons even). If you're willing to trod off the beaten path you may find something you like.

A lot has been said about this one but it really is close to perfection. Timekeeping wise this is the most accurate mechnical watch I've owned, in a week it had gained 4 seconds which is really awesome.

While it's intended as a field watch, I'm careful with it as it's almost too nice for that purpose. My outdoor activites are pretty rough on watches (landcape clean up, building projects, working on cars and power equipment, hiking, paddle sports, etc.) I haven't gotten it wet yet so I can't comment on water resistance. For accuracy, it may gain a minute or two a month but I'm more likely to forget to wind it

Perfect travel watch. I take this and this watch only on all of my overseas travel – functional, robust, don’t have to stress about banging it up, don’t have to worry about it getting stolen.

I've had it running now for 28 minutes and all appears to be well as far as timekeeping. As I despise glowing reviews of products right out the the box, I'll be back in several months to give some real life thoughts as to the functionality of this watch. As of right now, I have no regrets with this purchase. As I'm being forced to give the watch stars, I'll give it 4 as it has met my expectations thus far
