A Hands-On Review of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 41
When it premiered in 1945, the Rolex Datejust was the first automatic, watertight wristwatch with chronometer-worthy rate quality. It embodied all of the innovations Rolex had developed for wristwatches up to that time, including a date display in a window at 3 o’clock, where the date switched autom...

[Rolex] Now that I’m in my 30’s I finally got my “old man watch”
10 years ago if you would have told me if I would be in love with a two tone Rolex Datejust I would have laughed!. Fast forward to 2021 and here we are with this beauty strapped to my wrist. I had been considering picking up a piece with some gold in it and was drawn to the classic Datejust with the fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet. I stopped by my dealer to inquire and they happened to have this configuration with the newly released fluted motif dial and boy is it a looker!.

[Sotc] Seriously considering making this a two-watch collection.
These are the Rolex Datejust 126200 (36mm, black dial) on Oyster bracelet and the Cartier Santos Medium on a black leather strap. I last reduced my collection down to three watches in early 2020 after getting the Datejust, but I'm debatting selling the Omega SMPc to further reduce my collection.
[Collection] Ramblings on a watch collection
Some people say the dial is busy but I’ve never had any difficulty reading the time on this watch. In any case, PP is no stranger to busy dials if we’re really honest. Rolex Datejust 36. Nobody can deny that the Rolex brand has a curious allure.
[Rolex] Some Datejust pictures
The watch is an absolute looker and the fluted + jubilee combination is the best configuration on a datejust IMO. Not a big fan of the hoops you gotta jump through to get a Rolex at retail these days, but few can find fault with the absolute quality and finish of these things.
[Rolex Datejust] The 36mm wears so well.
This is the 36mm Rolex Datejust in stainless steel with black sunburst dial on the Oyster bracelet. Reference number 126200. I chose this configuration because I was looking for a new & simple (in terms of design) daily wearer when I bought it. The smaller 36mm size makes the watch very comfortable to wear in all situations and I can even wear it slightly loose, which is giving me major vintage vibes (something something jingly-jangly).
[SOTC] Until the crisis blows over, this is it!
Rolex Datejust 41 (Blue Dial) - My newest purchase that rounds and completes the collection for now. This is very fresh, only bought 2 weeks ago for my 30th birthday. It not only means a lot to me as I found it on my 30th birthday (this exact configuration was in my wishlist for some time), but it was also bought with my first commission bonus of my first sales job.

[Discussion] What is a watch that you like but are embarrassed to admit you like it ?
A two-tone Rolex Datejust: it's such a cheesy "80's cocaine yuppie" style watch that it's in my opinion almost a parody of itself... but I still like it! (alternatively it's something I could imagine an elderly man wearing on a way too loose bracelet on his badly sunburned wrist). It's actually the only Rolex I would ever even consider getting!.
[Omega] Early Grad Gift
Originally, I was looking for a Rolex Datejust but could simply not find one (MSRP) due to the massive supply shortage. I walked in to the Omega store “just to look” but ended up falling in love with this piece. I had not seen this particular model at other stores and ended up pulling the trigger to buy it. I loved the sharp contrast in the dial and indexes; really was the selling point for me.

[SOTC] I'd love to get your opinion on my collection!
Upgrading to the 58 was a no brainer, and this is fast becoming my favourite watch. Next is my Rolex Datejust 41. This was my first luxury watch, and the culmination of a lot of hard work. I adore this watch, and think it looks just as good with a t-shirt and jeans as it does with a suit.
