 Firstly I have a klipsch 12sw and I was hoping to replace it with this. I ended up using both.  What I like about this sub: It goes lower than the klipsch 12sw it's very clean tight bass  what I didn't like: Not loud enough. Even with gain maxed it only reaches the same rumble as my klipsch 12sw at half gain

 Per the IEC standard, the linear throw for this subwoofer using the 20% overall distortion threshold is 13.8 millimeters one way. So roughly 14 millimeters one way, which is a pretty respectable number. It's not the longest throw I've ever seen, not the longest linear throw I've ever seen, but with its sensitivity being at around the mid 80s, that's right on par with what I would consider a good raw drive unit

 This just might be too big for someone. So this or let's say similar model today. If there's a small apartment, I would think twice and maybe opt for SB-2000 instead. SB stands for sealed box, which is also a lot smaller in size

Thought for the price it would hit harder, I called consumer support they had me swap out the sub and amp with replacements ,it did help , but still not as powerful as I thought for the price

 while at the same time isolating the noise to just my room. this is important as i live in an apartment complex and prefer not to have my neighbors knocking on my door.

This sub woofer is amazing, i listen to a lot of bass heavy music so the upgrade from my 8 inch 100 watt Yamaha to this was much needed. this sub woofer can pump out super low frequencies with ease. its ability to switch frequencies on the fly is what differentiates it from other sub woofers on the market. when listening to heavy bass EDM such as G Jones, Tipper, or Bassnectar it performs wonderfully and can create massive sound pressure in my room with no problem

 I dont have any complaints on this subwoofer, you have to ask yourself is it worth shelling out 8 hundred for a very capeable sub (SVS) or is a $300ish pretty good sub good enough (bic"america)?

SVS PB2000 REVIEW: Good sub that delivers solid low frequencies. When i opened the box i said what all the ladies say when i drop my trousers, "thats pretty darn big". Sticks out from wall a good 2 feet, maybe slightly more. Has a metal front grill, which indicates to me its a well built unit

Now you may be able to find this on sale every now and then on SVS's website because they do run sales but let's be honest you may be able to find a cheaper subwoofer because they're out there right or you can build your own for cheaper but one thing that SVS does that I really like is they have what they call their customer bill of rights and that includes a 45 day in-home risk-free trial so you buy the subwoofer they ship it to you for free and if you decide you don't like it you can return it and they will ship it back to themselves for free. I like that it also comes with a five-year unconditional warranty and many other benefits and so basically I think it's a really good value and I do recommend SVS subwoofers to people that ask me mainly because of some of those perks so I've got to give it a four and a half out of five for value. So let's wrap this up if you are a music lover looking for a nice compact 12 inch subwoofer I highly recommend the SB1000 it sounds great with music it does well with movies but it sounds great with music so I've got to hand it to SVS they've got a great little subwoofer here

best sub for the money

 My experience with sealed hasn't been great - given they were very cheap subs that were more "fart boxes". However, the reviews on the SVS SB100 box said it goes plenty low, maybe not as low as the ported, but it goes plenty low. And low it does go. I was able to put this in a place where I didn't have bass localization and no rumble
