 One of the reasons why this chair consistently gets picked by our staff as a best overall for most people is because of how adjustable it is. Really, the entire chair will adjust to fit almost any body type. First, specifically, we look at just seat height range because this is going to be one of the more core components of getting a chair set to you. It will go all the way down to 15 and a half inches and up to as high as 20 and a half inches

 The LEAP also has one of the most comfortable backrests and a lot of that comes down to, again, much like the seat, the fact that it is flexible. It moves around with you. And you'll notice with this chair that this material that they use, this plastic polypropylene material, allows you to really flex it. You can see me just moving it in my hands

 I'm only 5ft 10in so I doubt I should be feeling an open area behind my rear while sitting on this chair.  My next issue also involves the base. It rocks back and forth by about 1/5 of an inch. I'm not sure if that's a conscious design decision but it's annoying when I try to re-position myself in the chair

 If I try to push myself up with my legs the base tips forward and makes the process of readjusting a bit more fatiguing.  My last issue so far is the clicking noise the chair makes when I lean back in it. I understand why my cheap old chair creaked and clicked when I would move back and forth. For this price would expect the chair to operate silently however

Chair is comfortable but a few build quality issues

Just as the title says, I tried the Steelcase Gesture, the Herman Miller Embody Gaming Edition and the Aeron Remastered. Out of these three, I ended up keeping the Aeron and returning the others.

I bought the Gesture, the Embody and the Aeron and only kept the Aeron. AMA!

The chair is offered in leather but the fabric was more suited to resist wear from what I read (plus breathe-ability), plus that was an ungodly expensive option. The chrome around the seat base is something I chose not to upgrade either; the plastic down there and the rest of the chair still looks great. ***Buying a used chair is more frugal, but you aren't likely to find a Gesture. *** I weighed buying the Leap/Aeron used for significantly less and ended up going for the Gesture knowing how much I was going to use it and I don't regret my purchase

Entering year three as a Steelcase Gesture with Headrest owner... still happy. This thing is built like a tank.

Make sure your monitors are raised up, and use a footrest if necessary.  All important.

Ergonomics chair help

 HEADREST IS A MUST! Trust me you won't have buyers remorse. Actually considering buying a second one to have one at home and one at work.

I am truly, madly, passionately, head-over-heels in love with this chair. Had been delaying buying one for years because of the price, and now I regret all of that time lost. It is incredibly customizable (with extreme ease) and feels like it was made for the individual sitting in it. Worth every last cent

Can I marry a chair?!

Given I live in a hot country, this is one of the main things that swayed my decision. I would love the option for a mesh seat like the Aeron, but that would basically be a completely different chair design so I get why Steelcase doesn't offer it. The Gesture wheel base assembly is made of metal, although I've never had a problem with plastic for this component since I'm usually barefoot at home and won't wear the plastic down by scraping it with shoes.

 It also makes a noise when I shift my position in the seat as well. This brings some concerns on how long this chair will last. -The seat is not flat: This is my biggest gripe about this chair. The sides of the seat curve upward

 But over long periods of sitting, this causes my hip joints to hurt because of the curvature of the seat. -Backrest tension not very adjustable: This is also pretty frustrating. The backrest tension isn't fully adjustable but instead comes with 3 preset levels. The knob for it is very cool though since it's adjustable from the side of the chair and solidly clicks into the 3 levels

 I find it hurts to sit in this for long periods of time because of the seat shape. The creaking noises are also concerning. If it's possible to return this, I definitely would.

Regret not being able to try the chair before buying

Get a real office chair, trust me. Wasted 700 eurs for a noblechairs epic that had so many flaws and in the end broke. Get a Steelcase Series 2 with headrest or a Please V2 for example, they may not look gamer style but your body will thank you because you can adjust so many things on these.

This chair is probably really adequate. For the price I would have liked it to be more comfortable but I was still feeling stress and pain in my lower back and sciatic pain. The moving and movable arm rests were a detracting feature for me, they do not lock into place and I find them very distracting when I used the arm rests to leverage myself on the the chair or adjusting positions. I'm returning the chair, and the return process so far has been incredibly easy

Not what I was hoping for

 Getting a junk product early isn't worth free, quick shipping. You get what you pay for most of the time, but in this time, I got 10% of what I paid for. Most expensive back pain I've ever paid for.

Disappointed

 After looking at several Steelcase options, I came across the Series 1 and thought it hit all my high points - lower lumbar support, adjustments for seat depth and seat height, and adjustable arms. And best of all the price wasn't super ridiculous. I had been paying around $150 per chair I bought at Office Depot - 3 chairs totaling $450 - the $430 for the Series 1 didn't look so bad. So I took a chance on a $430 chair that had zero reviews
