 I have gone back to my $100 office chair from Office Depot that is armless and has way more back and bottom cushioning. Moreover, it does not hurt my bottom and back with the old chair.

 It is way too stiff and the bottom part does not have enough cushioning. My back and bottom started hurting after several days of using this chair. At first the swiveling, non-lockable arm rests did not bother me, but soon became a pain in that they always move, even when I'm sitting down working. The chair is heavy to move, so you have to move it from the back support, and not the arms as they will swivel and move

 So disappointed. I would NOT recommend buying. I have gone back to my $100 office chair from Office Depot that is armless and has way more back and bottom cushioning. Moreover, it does not hurt my bottom and back with the old chair

 Overall disappointed in this purchase of an almost a $1,000 chair. It is past the return time on Amazon, so I'm stuck with a too firm, overpriced chair. So disappointed. I would NOT recommend buying

Overpriced, hard to sit on for long periods of time

I considered another one, a Workpro 9000, but ultimately smartened up to the prevailing winds here and just put in an order for a remanufactured Steelcase Amia with extra foam through Crandall. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks to this group for hosting a wealth of knowledge on the topic, I’m really looking forward to a proper chair. Stay healthy!.

 My former chair seat was hitting the backside of my knee so I tended to scoot forward which then made me slump. No more. I have the seat adjusted so I can sit up straight with my back against the back of the chair. The adjustable arms allow me to get right up under my desk and adjustable height means my feet are flat on the floor like they should be

First it comes fully assembled. Peel the box off the chair and you are basically ready to use. Set the height, arm placements and you will be experiencing the best chair ever. I am 55 years old and not a small person

 It took about three months for the cushion on the cheap chair to give out. The cushion on the Amia lasted about four months. Yes, only one month longer than a chair that cost $140. Now it's effectively useless

 I purchased my chair from “Advanced Teo Sales,” but I think it ultimately came from Madison Seating, for what that may be worth  Anyway, I’m happy with my purchase . . . as is my back and my wallet

 The particular chair I received had neither an odd smell nor a sloppy spray paint job 2. Installation is indeed pretty easy and there are only 3 pieces that slide into one another; however, I’ve not had a need to take the chair apart (and can’t imagine why I would), so I don’t know how hard a task that would be 3. As to the heaviness of the chair, yep, it’s pretty heavy, but you knew that after reviewing the specs, didn’t you—and, yeah, you may need someone to help you hold up the chair when attempting to align it to the arrows on the base of the chair as you put the chair together 4. The armrests do have a little play in them, as in they cannot be locked into position, but they definitely do slide forward, backward, inward, outward and sideways, and all that is working for me 5

  All the functions work as expected and the chair is quite comfortable for my 5'6" wife after adjusting for height, lumbar support and arms. I will update this review if I find anything worthwhile to report on, but for now I am happy to have saved money and given the wife something comfortable and ergonomic to sit on!

 The chair was clean, well packed and almost new. It was also fully assembled for a bonus.  All the functions work as expected and the chair is quite comfortable for my 5'6" wife after adjusting for height, lumbar support and arms. I will update this review if I find anything worthwhile to report on, but for now I am happy to have saved money and given the wife something comfortable and ergonomic to sit on!

Great chair for a great price - don't let the refurb scare you!

* **The Steelcase Leap V2**. I’m not a fan of the recline mechanism (with the whole sliding seat thing), I never managed to find a proper lower back firmness setting (it was always too much or too little for me) and the adjustable lumbar dug into my back so I ended up removing it. And finally, one problem I should've foreseen before buying it : foam backrests are not a good idea for summer.

 I had to let the chair outgas in the garage for a few days to get rid of upholstery glue smells. The only thing keeping me from 5 stars is the state of the arm rests (which could be tighter, there is a lot of play in them) and the action for the back tilt is a little off (leaning back is fine, but the mechanism does not recover quickly when leaning forward).

I had to let the chair outgas in the garage for a few days to get rid of upholstery glue smells.  One of the chairs had a faulty gas spring for the height adjustments, but you can just pick one with a working gas spring. Look at ebay kleinanzeigen, the offer is from a guy in Mühlheim!.

I'm suffering for some issues/pain/blockages in my sacroiliac joint &amp; some minor scoliolis in my lower back and I sit quite a long time (software dev &amp; gaming lifestyle...)

My options are - but I'm down to look for anything:

\- Haworth Fern (\~650€ w/o extras)

\- Steelcase Please seems to be more readily available

Alternatives to Steelcase Leap

. (5' 7", 145 lbs) it kept feeling like I was bottoming out on the cushion, and yeah I adjusted the chair in all sorts of configurations but my body didn't like it. Ended up selling it.

Recently came across the subreddit in my search for a fix to my broken ass. 

A little background, I've been recently having tailbone pain from sitting in some horrible cheap Ikea chair the past year while working from home. I also have cervical spinal stenosis (C5/C6 and C6/C7) and bilateral hip impingement to round things out a bit. Both are managed fairly well at the moment, so I'm aiming to fix the pain in my ass without disturbing my other issues. I also have a sit/stand Jarvis desk so I'm covered in that area. The tailbone pain starts within 15-20 minutes of sitting in my current chair, and its 1000x worse when I first stand up.

I'm 5' 10", 207 lbs. 

My work offers a WFH discount on two of the three chairs, and these are about as high as I'm comfortable spending at the moment. 

Without further ado... Any thoughts on the below options? Something else to consider?

* Steelcase Leap V2 ($550 new) 
* Haworth Fern ($810 new)
* HM Aeron B ($500 used)
