 You guys will see the video soon if you haven't already and it they're taking massive runs and the drag on the strip is still really good. Really smooth. So I'm very surprised at that drag actually held up because normally on these cheaper reels the drags like made of a really cheap material animal, just like one out after a fish pulls really hard. but this one's actually still really strong

 I Mean it works pretty good for thirty dollars? I have some more expensive setups and it works about the same actually. So I mean that's pretty good for a $30 reel. Another thing I actually like about this reel is the drag on it's very smooth, has really nice little clicking sounds, and I caught two really big redfish on this reel recently.  I wouldn't really met recommend it for maybe like a charter captain who's just trying to get a bargain and buy a bunch of reels for his clients to use because I don't think it would be that durable if you're fishing every single day or a couple times a week even. But I would recommend this for a beginner angler, someone who's really just starting to get into fishing because if something goes wrong with it, you're only thirty dollars in the hole. not, you know, however much more expensive we will be. $100 $150 I Would also just recommend it to anyone who's just trying to get some cheap stuff

Shimano Sienna FG reel review

 I was thinking about giving a similar KastKing reel a chance. It is lighter, with more line capacity and much more drag. I kind of wish I’ve done that instead.

I can't complain much for a $30 reel but it does have some issues

 I’d recommend a lighter rod, 7’ light or med-light  action graphite rod. I’d do a  shimano sienna FG 1000size reel filled with 6lb PLine CX for line.

I'm going to start doing some fishing around Southern Alberta while camping (mostly for rainbow trout) and there was an old rod without a reel left by the previous owner of my home. The rod is a Scimitar graphite rod with the model SC-66MHB. It looks like it's never been used and still has the scan sticker on it. 

I've done some Googling but can't find much information to guide me, so please excuse my ignorance- this is all new to me.   I've figure out that the 66 stands for 6' 6". Is the MH medium-heavy? 

Will this rod work for fishing smaller fish like trout? If so, does anyone have a suggestion for a budget reel and line that would pair nicely with this rod? Thank you in advance for any help!

Help identifying type of rod and picking a reel

DONT GET THIS THE REEl Would not hold the line and when I tighten it it did not tighten it but it did not  tighten so line came out dont buy this waste of 30 bucks and line

 It's only about 30 35, but this is hands down the best spinning wheel you can buy for that price point. I'm predominantly a Shimano spinning reel guy, so I've fished with this Sienna. I have the Sahara on another trout rod, I've used the Spyrix, the Stratic, different versions of the Stratoc, um, a bunch of different Shimano reels over the years. and um, while you do get what you pay for unlike the Stratix, if you go with this, you're really not going to notice that much of a difference

4 to 1 gear ratio that's going to help me keep up and keep that rod bent and keep zero slack in the line. So another great feature. You can go right through all your different models but my favorite is the 3000 by far. I spool this up with braid fluorocarbon straight through it handles it perfectly and then for all the guys salt water fishing back home or fresh water it has the Uh X protect all over it so corrosion, um wear and tear

Shimano Stradic FL Review with Carl Jocumsen

You could probably find a Stradic FL for that price. I have a Vanford as well as a Stradic CI4+, they're nice but the best thing about them is the weight. They pair beat with light rods. The Tatula LT is supposed to be very good as well

 I find I can add .0006-.0008" washers and other sizes in places to decrease the play/gaps. Does it make a difference? Yes

The 1000, this is a great smooth reel and the smallest of the line. It's better than previous Stradic's I have and it should be right? Do note the 1000 do not have Carbontex drag washer but it's not advertised. Add only one 1mm thick washer and you practically have a Stella with the bearing upgrades.  To make this a worthy reel it's best to add in the bearings Shimao was too cheap to put in as they used plastic bushings

  Change to bearings; parts:  Part: 16122 -1 BB Part: 17698 -1 BB Part: 19976 - 1 BB and +1 washer to space properly as bearing is shorter in height Part: 19992 - 1 BB Part: 19884 - 1BB and +2 copper washers to space properly as bearing is shorter in height. There is one other bearing that is in the top shaft and as of now I have not changed it but will down the road.  I also added in a GOMEXUS Power Knob for Shimano Stradic CI4+ Ultegra Twin Power 1000-4000 Daiwa Certate LT Ballistic LT Spinning Reel Handle Knob Direct 22mm and this makes an ultimate responsive reel as the plastic ones over time become sticky and gooey. The Gomexus makes the handle more solid feeling and has two bearings included so it spins and is free of drag

 I did purchased two of these reels. go ahead and grab the other one really quick and what I noticed was one of them. The drag was sticky so that is one con that I did find is that I may have just gotten a bad reel. not sure, but the drag was sticky

 Simple fix to that was I just took the cap off of the spool. You just take that cap off and there's going to be a spring on the inside that you will pop off. Go ahead and show that really quick might as well. So take that cap off the spool and then when you look at the inside of the spool, there's going to be a little spring in there

 So again, my overall opinion or rating I Guess you can say of this reel would be very good if not excellent again. I did have two, one of them had that sticky drag and that was really the only issue I've had with these reels and again the price range that $200 mark. But again if you are an insider you do get 20% off on our shop page. We do sell these reels so definitely take advantage of that so that will wrap up this review

 They say not. You don't have to grease carbon drag washers which these reels have. However, it is gonna help. It does help when you have some grease on there
