Seiko SKX009 vs Tudor Black Bay 58

The jubilee band is super comfortable, the "Pepsi" bezel makes the watch pop a little, and the links were perfect for my wrist. You will NOT get a sapphire crystal, Seiko uses their proprietary Hardlex crystal. But you will get an excellent automatic movement and an awesome look & feel. Oh, and you'll be spending about $6700 LESS than a real Submariner and there's something very comforting about that! I love the design and attention to detail this watch has, plus the fact that if you change the strap to a brown leather or even fabric it can be matched with more casual wear. Perfect travel watch. I take this and this watch only on all of my overseas travel – functional, robust, don’t have to stress about banging it up, don’t have to worry about it getting stolen.

I’d go with Seiko, mainly because of the affordability. Look at this as a college student list:. For the diver I would (obviously) choose my skx009. I think it’s one of the most iconic divers ever made in it’s price range

In terms of watch for dollars, it's a terrible bargain. It's obviously great in resale terms, but I don't wear watches for the next owner. I'd take a lightly used Pelagos or Planet Ocean (both around $4k) before spending my money on a Submariner. Or a BB58 if it fit my wrist

A lot has been said about this one but it really is close to perfection. Timekeeping wise this is the most accurate mechnical watch I've owned, in a week it had gained 4 seconds which is really awesome.

Do yourself a favor and get a miltat jubilee from strap code or a different leather/nato. Besides that, great buy!

After seeing the Tudor Black Bay 58 on social media I had to go into an AD and see one for myself. Went to the closest AD and found one on their nato strap, tried it on, and fell in love! But I did not buy it on site. I had to try it on the bracelet before pulling the trigger.
