It's quieter (if you care about that). It's 223g lighter. The only real gripe is the inflation valve. But it's far from the worst (that honor would go to Klymit, though I think older Thermarest pads are similar)

Best of all, it really is quiet! I can toss and turn to my heart's content without fear of waking up my camp mates and being obnoxiously loud all night. I have the Big Agnes Qcore something or other (yellow, 4" thick, super light, rolls up about half the size of this one) but it is soooo loud. So when that thing got a hole recently I set out to look for a slightly larger (though not thicker, but that's actually fine - this one is thick enough to be very comfy) and much quieter pad. I like everything about this pad except I would like it to be a bit wider. I’m a side sleeper and this is a very comfy pad but I generally sleep with one or both knees bent and my knees end up off the pad a couple more inches in width would be great. Other than that I have no other complaints about this pad. Prior to this pad I had the $40 pad here on Amazon with tens of thousands of great reviews and that pad it absolutely terribly in comparison to this one

Let me start by saying i used this for backpacking in ultralight on a 3 day hike in for elk hunting. Like most people stated its a little noisy but i was going for high R value and this pad was great for that. Now let me just tell you if your over 5'10 and your tent will fit it get the large. I am 6'2 and 195 and pad was ok but would not think about getting anything smaller

My husband had a very restful, comfortable night, though. I was skeptical of the inflation method which requires you to scoop & force air into the mattress using a nylon bag attachment, but it didn't take long at all to inflate, and no batteries required! The only negative is the price. If it were more reasonably priced, we would have two by now.
