This last point is going to be perhaps the most controversial one in the video, but yes, you can swim with a Speedmaster. If you follow watch meme accounts on Instagram, then you'll likely have seen a meme or two or ten about the Speedmaster's lack of water resistance

 But modern speedmasters have 50 meters of water resistance which is considered safe for a dip in the pool. Just make sure not to use the pushers or crown when it's submerged, otherwise your speedmaster might turn into a seamaster. Now that that's settled, let's wrap this thing up. Seriously, how many watches do you all have, and for what occasions?

I've just ordered [my first watch](https://www.tissotwatches.com/en-us/t1274071604100.html) as an adult, after decades of not wearing one or paying attention to  them. So, of course, I decided to look for a "Watches" subreddit to see if there was any knowledge to be had to "help" with my decision.

Cut  to a week later, and I'm spouting off to friends and neighbors about horological significance and quartz and the Swatch group and whether or not a Baume makes for a good EDC at my office.

So, first of all THANK YOU for all of the amazing resources in the pinned pages. In particular the brand and buying guides. And the rich post history. All good stuff and very much appreciated.

Secondly, I believe I may now have the addiction, so I (very jokingly) hate you all. I decided to start with something fairly basic (Tissot Gentleman Powermatic 80 Silicium Blue), but can already see that I'm probably going to be interested in at least a handful more, for different purposes/occasions/etc.

I'm genuinely curious about how many watches you all have, recognizing that everybody is different, and for what reasons/occasions?
