I have the Nemo Dagger 2P. I was looking for tents to backpack with, and those were my two choices. I ended up going for the Nemo due to its size.

I am having trouble deciding between the two tents and thought I'd ask those who have used either one of them or both for suggestions. 

After having used a cheap 2-person tent, here are some things that are important to me.

Length - I am 6'4. I tried out the Copper Spur today and although it is longer than what I had before, it still felt a little short. I read that the Dagger is 2 inches longer but I couldn't find any in-person to try it out. 

Ventilation - Having woken up pretty damp on several occasions with my previous tent, proper ventilation with the rainfly is important to me. I've read some reviews commenting that they had an issue with condensation with Dagger 2P

Ease of use - I'll be spending 50+ nights in this tent this summer so the ease of use is something I highly value (daily setup/takedown). I see that the Dagger 2P has an 8-stake system whereas the Copper Spur has a 6-stake system. 

Packability - The copper spur seems to be a bit lighter but the packed size seems similar to the Dagger 2P based on the specs online... 

I found the Copper Spur at $620 (CAD) in-store and Dagger 2p at $530 (CAD) online.

I'm open to other suggestions that fit my criteria. I am looking for a freestanding tent.

2P Tent?

 We also purchased the gear loft and footprint (both recommended). Footprint made of heavier material so should protect tent floor for a very long time; gear loft fits perfectly and hold shirts, lights, phone and other small items. Would totally reccomend this tent toanykne who wants to travel ultralight. Well worth the price and $100 cheaper than REI

REI Half Dome SL2+. We’re car camping at a few different campgrounds along the way up (Channel Islands - Scorpion, Kirk Creek, Yosemite Valley, Jedediah Smith) so we wanted a tent that we’d be comfortable in car camping, as well as remaining a reasonably weighted tent for a 2-3 day backpacking trip. Luckily that tent checks the boxes.

 A shelter is something I am not keen on skimping on because of previous situations with substandard tents, one almost turning into a survival situation in Northern California when a storm came in and destroyed me and my buddy's tent. Overall the quality/durability to weight ratio is perfect for me. I recommend greatly

 Well made, fast set up and simple design is what I like. I've had it in rain and stayed dry, at 10,000+ feet with 50mph winds and didn't collapse.  The materials are strong yet light weight. If your in search of a quality tent and don't mind paying a bit to get it, I would highly recommend this tent.

 The floor is made with water proofing materials. The tent is not huge but I am 6 foot tall and it fits me. You can get dressed inside but cannot fully stand up. The ventilation is great and the dual doors is a very nice option

Great lightweight tent

I have the REI half-dome 2+. I’ve found the “plus” part really makes it a lot more roomy for two people and gear.

Are there any 2 person backpacking tents that actually FIT 2 people somewhat comfortably? Or is it best to just up to a 3 person? I have a Big Agnes Fly Creek 2 that I use for solo trips but there's no way my girlfriend could fit in it with me. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated

2 person vs 3 person tent

..there just isn’t much in the way of trees/shrubs/rocks available for cover. What matters is having a tent with a low profile, and pitching it so the wind blows across it in a way that it doesn’t become an umbrella

Definitely drive stakes in at an slightly inward angle so they can’t be pulled straight out.

It was my 2nd time camping (last time in Joshua tree). Everything was perfect until the moon came out. There were constant gusts of wind from every direct blowing onto our tents. 

My friends' tent had a fracture on one of its poles(they just bought it from Target, but we had to throw the entire tent into the trash bin since it was really hard to fold it back in the strong wind). My tent was fine. It still took a huge effort to take it apart since we decided to leave for a nearby hotel. Meanwhile, we were trying to put the trash into trash bags as fast as we can. It was a nightmare.

I checked wind speed it was \~15 mph on Google later. The number doesn't look big. But I feel it is very strong and the tent is no longer safe (at least it was very loud for people to sleep inside). 

I saw the lady next to us left her tent and went back into her car. And most of the others were fine since they have RV. I wonder what a more experienced person will do in this situation. What is the appropriate wind speed? What should I look for when I check the weather besides sunny/rainy/snowy?  Should I leave the tent there like the lady next to us (I put a heavy rock on my tent, but I was still worrying the tent may be blown away and it becomes man-made garbage inside the park)?

Bad Camping Experience at Death Valley as a 2nd time Camper

 Total weight is around 6lb (or around 2.7 kg), which isn't bad if you split it among two people. Overall, a solid choice for hikes where you're going with a partner and don't want to spend an exorbitant amount of money.

Tent for new backpacker!?

My partner and I go backpacking with our 90lb dog and used the REI Half Dome 2+ for a bit but decided we just needed something bigger so we upgraded to the BA Copper Spur HV UL3 and it’s been great. As long as you’re conscious of where you’re setting it up and use a footprint to protect the floor, resiliency shouldn’t be an issue.

I’m trying to decide which tent to go with. I will be backpacking with my boyfriend and my dog (labradoodle-65lbs). I’m thinking between msr hubba hubba nx2 and big agnes copper spur hv ul3. I would love to go with hubba but I’m concerned it’s too small and that agnes is not as resilient as hubba. 
I’ve looked into msr hubba nx3 and the shape of it is just throwing me off. 
Any recommendations?
