I have the Nemo Dagger 2P. I was looking for tents to backpack with, and those were my two choices. I ended up going for the Nemo due to its size.

I am having trouble deciding between the two tents and thought I'd ask those who have used either one of them or both for suggestions. 

After having used a cheap 2-person tent, here are some things that are important to me.

Length - I am 6'4. I tried out the Copper Spur today and although it is longer than what I had before, it still felt a little short. I read that the Dagger is 2 inches longer but I couldn't find any in-person to try it out. 

Ventilation - Having woken up pretty damp on several occasions with my previous tent, proper ventilation with the rainfly is important to me. I've read some reviews commenting that they had an issue with condensation with Dagger 2P

Ease of use - I'll be spending 50+ nights in this tent this summer so the ease of use is something I highly value (daily setup/takedown). I see that the Dagger 2P has an 8-stake system whereas the Copper Spur has a 6-stake system. 

Packability - The copper spur seems to be a bit lighter but the packed size seems similar to the Dagger 2P based on the specs online... 

I found the Copper Spur at $620 (CAD) in-store and Dagger 2p at $530 (CAD) online.

I'm open to other suggestions that fit my criteria. I am looking for a freestanding tent.

 We also purchased the gear loft and footprint (both recommended). Footprint made of heavier material so should protect tent floor for a very long time; gear loft fits perfectly and hold shirts, lights, phone and other small items. Would totally reccomend this tent toanykne who wants to travel ultralight. Well worth the price and $100 cheaper than REI

 I have the SMD Lunar Solo which was relatively cheap and held up well. If memory serves I think it would save you about half a pound plus you don't have the hassle of packing tent poles.

Starting the PCT on May 20th, will be my first thru-hike. I've been pulling together a nice and reasonably light kit on a budget because I'm a student, but I just received a sweet sweet signing bonus from my new job and am looking to make some choice upgrades ;)

**Goal Baseweight:** As close to 10 lbs as possible!

**Budget:** Plus or minus $350, with exceptions made for especially cool suggestions.

**Non-negotiable Items:** The trekking poles were a present from my dad specifically for this trail, would be pretty mean to replace em.

I've just gotten used to my big 3, and I spent about $350 total on them. I'd be open to suggestions, but won't have very much time to field test any replacement before the trek.

I'm going to start the trail with a stove, and see if I end up deciding to cold soak down the road. If so, I'll swap to a talenti jar or something.

**Solo?:** With a hiking partner, but we won't be sharing much if anything.

**Additional Info:** Every item marked with a "TODO" is something I don't own yet! These are especially good places for new suggestions :)

PCT NOBO - be pedantic and shake my shit down

 Locate the webbing straps on the corners of the fly and attach to locking pole tips under the tent anchor webbing. Moderately adjust the tension in the fly using the webbing straps and ladder lock buckles, saving room for final adjustment. For final tensioning, stake out the vestibules and pull firmly on all adjustable corner anchors and tension lines for a tight setup. Utilize the weatherproof pull-through hooded guy lines for increased strength and stability if needed, as a properly tensioned tent ensures maximum watershedting and wind resistance

 Now position your tent as desired, preferably with the back of the tent toward the prevailing wind direction, and then stake the four tent corner anchors. Secure anchors by placing an anchor loop around the stake and pound it into the ground with a hard object. Kunai is equipped with a double loop for more stake position options. If the ground is too hard for stakes, you can tie anchors to rocks or other heavy objects

 For final tensioning, stake out the vestibules and pull firmly on all adjustable corner anchors and tension lines for a tight setup. Utilize the weatherproof pull-through hooded guy lines for increased strength and stability if needed, as a properly tensioned tent ensures maximum watershedting and wind resistance.

 Remove your pole set by connecting all segments and arrange the large hubbed poles so the

 pole colors match their corresponding corner weapon colors.

 Insert locking pole tips into the four corner anchors and attach the inner tent canopy to

 the poles by connecting all standard pole clips and all swivel THL clips.

 Now position your tent as desired, preferably with the back of the tent toward the prevailing

 wind direction, and then stake the four tent corner anchors.

 Secure anchors by placing an anchor loop around the stake and pound it into the ground with
