 Now then, moving over 32 is one of those things that got everybody super excited when it was first announced last year and what is it? Well, it's a little desktop synthesizer with your AK format. You can use it like this, which is with it's lovely wooden, end cheeks. It'S got a MIDI input, which is what I'll control it from for the time being. So I can plug that straight in and play it straight from my MIDI keyboard

 A input means I can boost again coming out, so I can start to clip it if I really want to get a bit funky with that, but that's nice and useful, and additionally, while we're at it. Let'S do something else here: let's take the VCO pulse without and put that into the external audio. So let's get the VCO going on the LFO here right. So the first thing I'm going to do is I take the keyboard output and I'm going to go into the vc mix. Now the vc makes is a voltage control mixer

 Point on the patch Bay - that's actually quite nifty, because that assignable patch point means that through firmware updates, they can have it do lots of different things. It'S currently got a number of functions anyway, let's take a listen to a voice, starting with a sawtooth nice for the buzz good range on it. Let'S take a listen to the square wave, Oh for a long title variation of this they're moving on to the filter. The filter is actually quite interesting

For background, I primarily make dark ambient/drone and noisy techno, and I already have a Soma Lyra-8 and an Elektron Digitone (which often assumes drum duties—it's awesome for that). Seeing as I don't have a more conventional subtractive analog synth, I'm looking to fill that gap. But I don't want to be limited to conventional, which has drawn me to the world of semi-modular

What Should I Buy? /// Weekly Discussion - August 23, 2021

  I can't get past having separate sequences as parts to a song. It always feels disconnected and hard to polish a full track.  I feel like Ableton *might* help with seeing a track laid out and help with mixing but I'm worried it would add a whole new huge layer of complexity when I'm already still trying to figure out so much.  So would it be easier to work inside a DAW when it comes to mixing and song structure?  Did I mess up by starting to learn music dawless?

 It sounds awesome. One could wish for a second oscillator like the Minitaur, but then the price would be a bit more too. Since it's Eurorack compatible, you can add another oscillator if you are going to use this in a skiff and build on it with other modules. If you want a bass synthesizer though that is stand alone, then perhaps the Minitaur is the way to go

TL;DR:. Roland JU06A: Traditional design, lovely sound, would be good to learn translatable sound design for other synths, $400. Teenage Engineering OP-1: Basically it’s own DAW, fun and intuitive design, portable, steep and non-translatable learning curve, $1100.
