Elektron Digitone 1.32 OS improves quality of life, in line with last summer's Digitakt refresh - CDM Create Digital Music
But there seems to be a pretty strong preference from a lot of folks for Digitone, even for making percussive sounds.

After an 18 year wait, I finally got one today.
After the Elektron Digitone and Volca FM were launched the prices of these skyrocketed to at around $600 which in my opinion it is NOT worth it. I have a DX7, and it sounds amazing but the itch for a DX200 still lingered, because the DX7 cannot be tweaked live (without a supermax card).
A beautiful machine.
As people say, Elektron has its own way of doing things. If you're good with that, this instrument has incredible sounds. True Yamaha-style FM 4-op algorithms (like my old FB-01 module) with fully configurable, very analog-sounding VCFs. Sublime ambient stereo effects. The sequencer is often good en...

Where you should go after you're done with the Volca Bass:
My go-to now is the Elektron Digitone, but I've also used the Volca FM for this. There's a quality to FM as bass that is really gripping and exciting to me, perhaps because the sound is just less familiar. And you can stack them with analog bass as well!.

So inspirational
This box is great for a beginner and if you mess with the p-locks it can do drums and be a whole groovebox. I've just gotten into synthesizers and I find this so inspirational for crafting sounds. You can take umbrage as some things and it is a simplified box, but that also makes it easy to get into...

I own an Elektron Digitone and will soon have a Virus TI2, as those give me exactly what i am looking for soundwise. But i'd love to have a nice hardware box to run them through to either beef up the sound just a little or completely shred it. Will also use it for other stuff coming from the DAW, drums, vocals, etc.
All in on Elektron
My second Elektron box after spending the last few months getting to know the Digitakt. Digitone is a perfect companion box for the Digitakt. Elektron build quality is amazing and the work flow of creating music on their boxes is extremely fun. They've somehow made FM synthesis less intimidating and...

Is The Elektron Digitone Worth It?
Oh, it's so well built, or you know the screen is so nice or you know just features about it that that seem really cool to have, but might not be necessarily what you need and if the digitone does seem like it's right for you, um wait for A good deal you know, as far as i can tell the digitone is still in production. It's not going to be suddenly going unavailable anytime soon and if you see one locally often you can get a better deal from like local classifieds than you might get on. Reverb or ebay, but anyway i want to thank you so much for hanging out

I’d image you buy one and learn it then the other adds a nice upgrade and both can sit nicely in the corner of a room with some headphones?. Then there is the Octatrack, which is about the same price and the Digitone and Digitakt together.
Brilliant machine.
Shockingly deep and well-engineered. Sounds beautiful. Great presets. By sequencing external instruments it can operate at the center of a setup.
