Levoit Core 300 vs Blueair Blue Pure 311 Auto

Guests were having problems with allergies when they visited (I do vacuum a lot to try and mitigate symptoms). I have noticed an extreme difference in air quality even after about 2 months now. I leave it running almost constantly and move it around to different rooms where I’m cleaning sometimes. You can clearly see what it’s catching in the filter, even small fruit flies (ya, gross lol)

I have really severe allergies, and after doing a lot of homework I ended up following Wirecutter's advice and I bought two Coway AP-1512HH and 4 Levoit Core 300s to cover the majority of my house. They've made a noticeable improvement in my allergies!.

Yes, we do have 2 dogs but they are not allowed in the bedroom due to my allergies. I honestly didn't have high hopes for the smaller unit but after a couple days of it purifying the bedroom air, I noticed a huge difference. I began waking up with clear sinuses and the room smelled "different". Not a bad smell but maybe just NO smell? Anyhow, after giving the little Blue a good 30 days to prove itself, I knew I needed a larger one for our living room

Levoit also make pet specific filters for this model. Filter replacement cost is reasonable when their lifespan is about 6-8 months iirc.

That means if it’s in a child’s room and child knocks something into it, it could dent or damage the filter itself resulting in the need for a replacement. - Without constantly referring to the manual it’s difficult to know what setting it’s on. This can be rather problematic if a child continues to cycle through the settings. Would I recommend it to a friend: Yes

Super impressed how much air this can filter in a short amount of time. Makes me more comfortable taking off the mask after the students leave the room.

The big benefit is that I scheduled the purifier to run on Medium when I'm not in the room (which happens to be my office), and then turn back to Auto before I return. When I get back to my office the air smells and feels noticeably better than the rest of the house. Plus being able to tell alexa to turn up the purifier just seems cool. It will be more useful when I stick a second one of these in my daughters room and I can turn it to low for white noise without having to enter the room

I did test it out on a smoky day and it did detect poor air quality and upped the fan. Within 30 minutes it cleared out the air. Yes, these purifiers DO make a notable difference. They are not a gimmick

As for function, I haven’t had the product long enough to determine whether or not it works properly. I do like the auto mode, especially when I am cooking. It helps clean the air of fumes from the gas stove and general food particles. The sound of the high speed fan is not too bad, very similar to the hum of a standard fan

A clean one therefore saves you money in the long run because you won't have to replace the main filter as often. More than anything, an air purifier that has a dirty filter probably doesn't do anybody much good, regardless of the specifications on the box. Secondly, I bought this particular model because of its capacity, air quality indicator, and because it uses much less energy than other air purifiers (only 4-38 watts). I keep it running 24/7 in a large bedroom, so energy use and noise are important
