 I've had no issues with flats and the ride quality has been reasonable despite the smaller 8-inch wheel size thanks to the added cushion of pneumatic tires. If a scooter that costs a thousand dollars comes with tubeless pneumatic tires, then every other scooter that costs hundreds and thousands of dollars more has no excuse. All the other components on this scooter have been performing satisfactorily. The mechanical brakes combined with some light electronic braking has suited this scooter well, allowing me to stop quickly but not too aggressively to throw me over the handlebars

 You really shouldn't be doing any off-roading with this scooter except maybe very tame dirt paths. I mentioned in my first impressions that despite making handlebar swaps on many my other scooters, the Mantis 8 really didn't feel like it needed wider handlebars because of its smaller size. I actually stand by this statement. I haven't felt any need for better or wider handlebars, and I feel that the stock bar suit the scooter well

 If you saw the range test for this scooter, you saw it blow my range expectations out of the water and get almost double the range I was expecting on dual motor turbo mode riding. I got over 17 miles of range with the speed settings maxed out. Pushing the scooter to 20 or even 30 miles should be very doable with a little less aggressive riding. All this performance and quality is bundled up into a relatively light scooter that folds down into a surprisingly small package

 The brake levers have a rubber strip in the middle really like these on scooters and is something you find on higher end brands. The display can be easily seen in full sun and has three brightness levels. I've had it in the highest setting throughout the review. To access the menu, you do need to plug in the code which is 1500 and once in you can reset the odometer, change the display, turn off time, and change all the other settings I've talked about throughout the review like speed, acceleration, and braking

 Now I didn’t buy for myself but out of all the scooters in my garage this is the one I grab to get the mail or just cruise around with my kids if my son isn’t riding it of course. I bought this for my 10 year old and at first I thought this is too big for him which might be but he is still able to ride with no problem. I also thought too fast for him which is also probably true 😂 but he wears his helmet and flys up and down our very hilly roads with ease. Me too! Segway made a real nice product here

It's a good scooter, but for the price I shouldn't almost break my hand every time I want to collapse the scooter to store in a classroom during class as a college student. Range, speed, acceleration, lights are all great, but you have to publicly embarrass yourself in front of all your classmates while trying to fold it up. For the cost, get an ES2 instead (it folds 1 million times easier, and has front suspension). It's much better for college applications

 It didn't look like it was really short on him a lot of times when you see people riding scooters uh in the city that are they're very tall people, it's like down at their waist and it just doesn't look comfortable to be riding a scooter and like Holding and trying to steer way down at your waist having it more like up near your abdomen, is a more comfortable riding position, more natural for where your arms fall, and so, though, it was slightly tall for me and my brother-in-law on a taller person. It looked very comfortable, and so really the range was good. I liked how tall the the handlebar was when this came in for review. I had some nephews just coming into town and it was fun to see some younger kids really enjoying it all the way up to, like my father-in-law, really enjoying it

 It'S very firm, very well put together the disc brakes on the back are fantastic. This is a dual braking system. So when you let off the throttle, the front, drum kind of slows down with what's called regenerative braking system and on the back, when you squeeze the brake, you have a nice disc brake which actually the front reacts and has some abs, so some stability. So if you jam on the brake too hard, it hopefully won't slide out and crash

 Who'S rode kick scooters extensively throughout different cities in the u.s. Is these larger tires? Okay, these are 10 inch tires most standard, kick scooters are eight inch and there's actually some out there with six inch tires, and one thing that really stood out to us was how smooth of a ride that this scooter was compared to the other ones that we've Ridden in in cities where you can kind of rent them on the go, you can grab your phone rent them ride somewhere downtown and then you know just leave it there and that's up to them. Whatever the tires going over bumps and even riding

Durable & Smooth Riding // Segway Ninebot F25

Bought for my daughter and bell broke within 24 hours. It’s fine for her but not sturdy about where the neck breaks down for 170lb person. Feels flimsy. She loves it though so I am going to try and contact Segway for a new bell which is integrated into the front brake and latch mechanism

Cheaper materials than expected

 I’ll assume the claimed weight is accurate. Carrying a scooter around that weighs 35 lbs. does take some effort. Don’t dismiss the importance of being lightweight

 First the Ninebot F40 is solidly built. Assembly and setup were easy overall. However, the enclosed instruction book has ridiculously tiny print and isn’t terribly helpful. Moreover, the locking mechanism on the steering column requires excessive force to lock and unlock

 Obviously rider weight plays a role in climbing. As I’ve said, I’m about 185 lbs. I regularly climb both of these grades on my bicycle with some effort in the lowest gear. I consider the climbing ability to be mediocre

 I walked it to the top. I tried a second climb that was a bit gentler, and made it about 2/3rd’s up before coming to a stop. Obviously rider weight plays a role in climbing. As I’ve said, I’m about 185 lbs

Took my new F40 out for a test ride

 For me, it ultimately came down between this scooter and the Ninebot Max.  I ultimately chose this one for one reason: the frame near the front wheel splits in half (two bars) on this scooter vs the single bar on the Ninebot Max, meaning it would be a lot easier for me to secure a U-type bike lock to it. It was also slightly cheaper, about $100 or so.  I've had this scooter for about five months now, and have zero complaints for what I paid for and how I use it

 The pros I have is that it can build some serious speed. It is made of good materials. The cons is that because of that material it can be quite heavy to try and lug up flights of stairs. I was also a little bummed in how much it struggles to climb inclines
