I'm only 5ft 10in so I doubt I should be feeling an open area behind my rear while sitting on this chair. My next issue also involves the base. It rocks back and forth by about 1/5 of an inch. I'm not sure if that's a conscious design decision but it's annoying when I try to re-position myself in the chair

I still prefer to buy them used since the value of many chairs drops very quickly and you can find 7/8yo chairs at 200$ instead of 1000$ new.

The chair is offered in leather but the fabric was more suited to resist wear from what I read (plus breathe-ability), plus that was an ungodly expensive option. The chrome around the seat base is something I chose not to upgrade either; the plastic down there and the rest of the chair still looks great. ***Buying a used chair is more frugal, but you aren't likely to find a Gesture. *** I weighed buying the Leap/Aeron used for significantly less and ended up going for the Gesture knowing how much I was going to use it and I don't regret my purchase

Just as the title says, I tried the Steelcase Gesture, the Herman Miller Embody Gaming Edition and the Aeron Remastered. Out of these three, I ended up keeping the Aeron and returning the others.
