HP is an American company that specializes in office equipment, mainly printers, desktop computers, and laptops. They have a decent selection of monitors, which are mainly focused on productivity to compete against Dell. However, they also have a few gaming monitors in their OMEN lineup, which we've tested. They're not the highest-end monitors, but they're not expensive either. If you're just getting into the gaming world and don't want to spend much on a reliable first monitor, an HP display is generally a safe bet. They have monitors with IPS, VA, and TN panels, so the picture quality and performance depend on which model you get. They have two 240Hz monitors that we've tested, the HP OMEN X 27, which has a TN panel, and the HP OMEN 27c, which has a VA panel with a better contrast ratio.

As HP has a limited selection of gaming monitors, and they're only standard 16:9 monitors, there's a chance you won't find what you need from HP, especially if you want an ultrawide display. However, they do have ultrawide office monitors if that's what you need. Their stands offer limited ergonomics, so they're hard to place in an ideal viewing position or if you need to turn the screen for co-op gaming. On the plus side, the gaming monitors tend to have fantastic motion handling, and combined with the low input lag and high refresh rates, they're great for gaming.

 Sadly, for photo editors, it has limited coverage of the adobe rgb color space. A high refresh rate is important for gaming. It allows the image to be drawn on the screen faster, which makes it more responsive, and if the monitor supports variable refresh rate, then you can get a smooth experience without tearing, regardless of the changing frame rate. The standout feature of this monitor is its 240hz refresh rate

 So there's no inverse ghosting, however, like most va panel monitors, it has a slow response time in dark transitions, which leads to black smearing with dark objects. If the frame rate drops when you're gaming, then once again, the response time remains quick. At 60hz, we actually recommend setting the overdrive setting to level 2, because the higher levels have too much overshoot.  So sounds like really good color accuracy to me and it looks freakin good as heck when just make sure that if you do use this for gaming and you set your preset to FPS or race or whatever just make sure you set it back to one of Your custom presets for your color accuracy or the default preset just so that you don't look at the wrong color temperatures while you're trying to you, know color grade video and stuff like that, because that is a really easy mistake to make. So just make sure that you are aware of your different color settings on your monitor and they're really easy to find. You just have to be mindful of it playing games. This is a really hard monitor to run at its full resolution

 Following the m51 and the brand-new 27-inch ultra hua is basically the same design same RGB s and LEDs and stuff like that in the back. Just obviously stretched to 34 inches increase the resolution and drop the hertz from 240 to 120. You do have a little bit of RGB underglow as well, so that is a really nice touch, as well as other areas like the ailing head and behind it. You got it, though, where it glows on your wall, but more or less it's the same exact design as the 27-inch, obviously just bigger

 The game you can use the edit photos, videos, everything - is got really your color accuracy across the board. You got 98 % of dcpip 3 and you also have 134 percent of srgb.  So I got another monitor arm next day and pushed it back as much as possible and it still feels a little big after my 27”. I’ll probably get there soon. What I am trying to say, even the difference between 27 and 34 inches feels dramatic and you may feel overwhelmed by 49 before trying and experiencing it first hand. My desk is 180 cm tall and the depth is 60 cm. First day, my old monitor arm couldn’t weigh the monitor and I had to use it with its own stand and boy I have to say that it’s big and making the table so cramped that it feels like it’s on your face. So I got another monitor arm next day and pushed it back as much as possible and it still feels a little big after my 27”. I’ll probably get there soon

Currently, my 2 choices are  between the AOC AGON AG493UCX 49" and the Alienware AW3420DW 34" and I'm honestly not sure which to take should I ascend to the DQHD or just the normal Ultrawide, is the 32:9 aspect ratio worth it or would the 21:9 do the trick

The reason for the above choices being Credit returned on my current screen which broke, so I am limited to only using that supplier and these seem like the only good monitors available as a replacement that will allow me to ascend

32:9 vs 21:9

 The outdated HDMI 1.4 port is especially galling because it doesn't even have the bandwidth to drive the monitor at its full resolution/refresh rate - it's only able to do 50 Hz at 3440x1440. This means that if you want to connect a second device to the monitor, such as a laptop, you will have to settle for it displaying at 50 Hz through HDMI (which is EXTREMELY noticeable compared to 120 Hz), or shell out additional cash for an aftermarket Displayport switch (and make sure it supports Gsync! not all of them do!). This isn't a dealbreaker, but it's rather disappointing that an HDMI 2

Back to monitors. My first idea was to buy 2x27-30" monitors (LG 27GN950-B) but after some thought I believe an ultra wide monitor will be a better choice (feel free to give your opinion. UW vs 2 monitors).

 This is one of the reasons why I will always advocate for gsync vs freesync. Side by side, the HDR vs no HDR is hardly noticeable and would always recommend the dell for those reasons above. \#1. 32:9 I'm actually going to start with a super ultrawide monitor. The most popular is the samsung CRG9. This is a 5120 x 1440p, freesync 2, hdr, 1800r curved monitor by samsung

 I have a mount that can support up to 30 pounds and this monitor is just far too heavy. The stand is very low so it definitely will not be an an ergonomic level unless your torso is very short.

 Some takeways about the monitor: black levels are excellent and colors are great. The HDR is passable. However, the response time on this monitor is DEFINITELY noticeably slower than a comparable IPS and EXTREMELY slower than a fast 240hz TN panel. It is very noticeable in first person shooters (Far cry 5, destiny 2, CS GO, overwatch)

 Because this monitor can only produce 350 nits max, going that low on the brightness is only suitable for low lit rooms and general use. For gaming you will want to crank up the brightness to get all the details to pop. But the trade off is loss of color accuracy. The following calibrations are a compromise to get a great gaming experience even in a well lit room but still have an acceptable color accuracy

I really reccomend sitting further away from this monitor as opposed to being close up. The colors are very bright and vibrant. Literally no washed up colors no back light bleed really at all and if it's there just a little bit on this IPS screen you won't notice it at least not my unit.

Additional thoughts: Please have a high spec machine at least RTX 2070 Super or above to run this beast at it's native resolution. If not than I wouldn't see a use for it and to look elsewhere.
