I needed one for your same reason, so I've tried out for a few days an Hisense A5 Pro CC, which's a full-optional e-ink phone, but I really got stuck on the low quality of that color e-ink screen, maybe we should wait for a better version of color screen or use a B/W screen.

Dear all, I use my phone for the most part of my day. I take online classes, do work for my clients, send emails, and basically everything I do is on my phone.

I had a kindle and today it got into my mind what a blessing would it be to have a phone that will not strain my eyes (I wear glasses) and is eink. I get headaches for starring at screen. And have mental breakdows very often.

I am considering buying hisense e5.

Do you guys recommend it? Is there a better option? I want to mainly use it for reading, using google, gmail among others.

I share your "pain" as an owner of A5 Pro CC. The lack of a proper Google Play store and full services (like location) makes it difficult to use properly. Plus it does not play nice with Japanese carriers (other people have experienced problems making calls to me, some SMS messages are not received for hours, new SMS message notifications have been missed / dropped on many occasions). Finally replaced it with a simple e-ink phone: Kyocera KY-01L

I own a Hisense A5 Pro CC and I am not very happy about it. Its lack of Google Play services and the trackers installed on it make it unusable for me as a primary phone.

 I got the A5 over the A7 for the NFC but because the ecosystem is not fully compatible with Google (not at all for me despite trying ways around it), it's basically ending up being a lighter e-reader with Telegram with good battery life. Not too bad for the price, but not fully functional enough to replace a full smartphone with the software.

 I didn't realize the phone was learning my use patterns. After about a week the battery life is great! I use my phone all day for business and personal and now I no longer need to charge it in the middle of the day. First time I've actually used the face recognition on a phone. And it's working great

 The fingerprint takes some getting used to - being on the front and having to get my finger pretty flat. The camera is probably way better than outstanding. 🤣 I'm still learning to use it but it's got some amazing features and the zoom.

Amazing phone and features

  The Good: So even with all the ranting there is some good with this phone. To start things off the camera has some nice new features. The fact that you can zoom in 100x is pretty impressive, even though at that distance any picture looks like it was taken with a potato. The camera also has a laser auto focus which is pretty interesting to watch in video, the camera will literally adjust to movement without you actually moving

 Again not horrible but the Note 10+ was just so much slimmer and more comfortable in the hand. Lastly the cost. I bought my Note directly from Samsung for $700 brand new with a pair of galaxy buds and a charger included, so at $1200 this phone should have outperformed my 2.5 year old Note across the board, but to be quite honest its mediocre at best

 I only have my thumbs set for all 4 scans and more times than not it still can't pick it up. Size is somewhat bulkier, primarily due to the raised camera overlay, which results in the case being somewhat bulkier. Again not horrible but the Note 10+ was just so much slimmer and more comfortable in the hand. Lastly the cost

For the cost, could've been better

 10x zoom is good only in bright lighting. But the camera lets me down every time I try to take a picture of my kid inside, every time it comes out as a blurry mess.

5. Battery-- I can get a full days use from the phone with battery to spare. I'm answering emails, watching videos, playing some more powerful mobile games, play game pass on it, and browsing websites. The phone doesn't get hot and performance does not slow down

2. Screen size-- As I indicated earlier, I love big phones because it provides a better media consumption experience and is better for online gaming.

Best Samsung I've owned

I don't like how big and bulky this phone is. It is also very heavy. It has a great camera and other nice features but I do miss being able to expand my memory with an sd card.

Usually, a review of a superpowered phone from Samsung consists of a bunch of promises and then a bunch of reality checks on those promises. With the Galaxy S21 Ultra, there are fewer caveats than before. The battery lasts beyond a full day. There’s a beautiful new design

There’s no getting around that this is a massive, relatively heavy phone. But Samsung also has a ton of experience making gigantic phones, and it has applied everything it has learned here. For example, contrary to the current trend, the screen is still just a little curved on the sides. I think it was the right call — it narrows the bezels on the left and right just that much more, making the phone easier to hold

8 inches diagonally, which is basically tablet territory. If you are keeping score — and you know that Samsung is — the S21 Ultra’s screen spec is 0.1 inches bigger than the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max

 The Note 20 Ultra fixed the worst bugs but didn’t improve image quality. Thus far, the “ultra” line hasn’t been especially ultra.

More phone, less money

 The only difference is the screen size and that the s21 plus has a 4800 mAh battery while the s21 has a 4000 mAh. The ultra however, offers higher resolution, much higher ppi, the larger screen, larger battery than both (5000mAh). The ultra has much more powerful camera as well, the curved screen, camera features and settings. So if you want all the features and performance and screen resolution (I like the stream movies on my lunch breaks) then go with the Ultra, if you just want to upgrade to the newest and fastest phone, and you don't need to have 100000 tabs open, get the base s21

I upgraded from the Galaxy s8 to the S21 Ultra with 256 gb of storage and 12gb of ram. I will start off by saying go with the Ultra or the base, you pay $200 extra for half an inch of screen on the plus (this is called decoy price, you see this at movies where the popcorn medium is only 1 dollar less than the large, but is 3 more than the small, so you might as well go large.) I'll give more detial at the end.  Camera is super high quality, zoom is incredible
