Hiboy Max vs Hiboy S2

Out of the box, it seems very 'solid' and well-built. I bought my daughter a Gotrax GKS Lumios, which I received on Sunday, and the S2 feels a lot more 'serious', which I suppose makes sense, given the target market for these two scooters. It took about 10 minutes to assemble the handle bars, adjust the disc brake (I had to tighten it a bit), and pair the scooter with the Hiboy S2 app. Then, I was out the door

Every time I power on the scooter, I need to press the button 3 times to disable the cruise control (which is enabled by default), twice to turn on the lights, and two more single presses to set the scooter into mode 1 (It is in mode 2 by default which is too fast for my needs). I wish the scooter would remember to keep the cruise disabled and to stay in mode 1 for a slower top speed. Other thoughts are that the charging port isn't in the best location and the weight of this scooter isn't the lightest in it's price range, but it is fun to drive even with it's faults.

I have two issues so far but they are minor: One is that when you’re going up the hill and you have the accelerator pegged but you’re not moving that fast, the device will click into cruise control (As noted by a beep) and once you crest of the hill and your speed starts picking up you can use either brake(s) to disengage cruise control. That initial brake is abrupt. I’ve learned to only barely touch it just to disengage cruise control. I noticed this especially with the electric brake in your left hand

If you put it at the most powerful setting and ride at full throttle, you will not go much further than about 10 miles based on my test runs. If you coast, go easy with the acceleration and keep it in a power-conserving setting, then you might think the ride will feel a bit sluggish and boring, but you will have effortless and reliable transportation across the full range advertised. It's faster than walking and about the same speed as biking with a cheaper or comparably priced bike.

7. I'm suspect about the advertised range. Again I weigh 225 so keep that in mind but I rode it about 1 1/2 miles after a full charge and the battery was down to 90% so I doubt I'll get the advertised 25 mile range. I'm going to do a full range test soon

I was able to install it with little difficulty except for thin and weak screw mounts that hold the battery that break and strip easily. I'm writing this review to give the company kudos for good service in the end even though I was and still am disappointed the battery failed so quickly in the first place. Maybe I just had a bad one and this next one will be better. Overall, this is a good scooter as long as the battery lasts

I replaced them with successfully with major pain. I did my research for a new scooter while waiting a week for a pair of high quality bearings to arrive.
